Serious College Decisions
As some (most?) of you guys know, I was accepted into a great school just before Christmas in 2013. It turns out I might be graduating a year earlier from that institute...or I might go for my master's degree (whether a M.S. or M.E., I'm not sure yet) and graduate in four years. I made a schedule for myself (knowing that there will almost undoubtedly be scheduling conflicts since I can't generate one for the Spring semester yet) and I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair. I scheduled it to graduate with a major in nuclear engineering and a minor in Chinese in six semesters (3 years) according to all the required courses I need to take. But I looked into the master's degree stuff, which said I need a minimum of 90 credits and at least a 3.3 GPA. I HAVE 135 CREDITS (because you count the credits you transferred, which are the same ones helping me to graduate early). I only need 120 total for both degrees (an additional 30 for the master's degree)...but 12 must be courses between 6000 and 6999. I already had 6 scheduled for my third year. xD So now I'll hopefully be able to spread myself a little thicker for my other courses. But seriously, the way I had it set up, it looked like I would be graduating in 3.5 years with a master's degree and a minor, which isn't impossible, but is somewhat ridiculous. (Again though, I'm anticipating hiccups in the plan. I just thought it was funny what it looked like on paper.)
