KPOP is for Asians only?

So, I recently just watched a video of Chad Future, I know a lot of Kpop fans hate him and I don't really understand why, I'm not a huge fan of him myself but thats only because I don't really know of him--- but anyways, I was scrolling throught the comments and I just happen to see this,

"Since when did White people get into K-pop? K-pop was created as a means for Asians to express themselves and separate from the discrimination they faced in Western culture.

In Western media Asian women are displayed as exotic objects with no depth and Asian men are shown as less and inhuman. Now that the Asian entertainment industry has become lucrative due to Asia's raising economic influence, White people are jumping on the band wagon? LAME!!!"

Honestly, you. And everyone who thinks Kpop is only for Asians.

  • Why does Kpop come to America if its only for Asia?
  • Why would you live in America/Canada if it wasn't found my your own race?
  • Why would you speak English if its not your native language?
  • Why would you listen to English music if English isnt your native language?
  • Why would you wear the clothes you wear if it wasn't cultural to your race?
  • Why would you eat the food you eat if it wasn't made by your people?
  • Why would your ancestors travel to English countries if it wasn't founded by their own race?

And the answer to the last question is--- TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE. I'm definitely not being racist because I know for a fact that its true, life was hard in Asian or even other foreign countries because of poverty or wars thats why so many other races live in America and Canada... But why would you, your race wasn't the founders, You shouldn't live here. <==== Now thats something I would say if I'd think that Kpop is only for Asians. but I DO NOT believe in that or this^ because everyone has a right.

and maybe, the people who aren't Asian and happen to enjoy kpop, want to find a new interest in life!!! To find a new meaning or learn more of other races cultures? Just let people, like whatever the they want.

Kpop is indeed for every race, if it wasn't I dont see why in Audition applications it says "not based off of gender/age/NATIONALITY" OR why Kpop would sponcer in America-- "they're not English though, why would they?" you know why? Because they want to be known GLOBALLY!

and lets be honest, without the popularity in English speaking countries Kpop has, Kpop wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is today. Be greatful that we have passions for different cultures. AND FYI if those women didn't display themselves like that they wouldn't be looked that way now, now would they?

and if you happen to believe Kpop is only for the Asian race, provide me your proof please-- I want to see kpop entertainments say it themselves not that false wikipedia . I want ENTERTAINMENT proof. Till then, you all. :D kay bai

I don't understand either why some KPop fans get so defensive over an American artist singing in Korean. Shouldn't this be considered a good thing? I honestly have no real interest in Chad but they need to give him a break. When people say 'Kpop is only for Koreans' I find it a horrible thing to say. Music should be for everybody to listen to regardless what race is singing it. That's why I like the fact some music companies are open to foreigners that's a definite good sign.

Yeah, I have heard that opinion. Mostly from Korean fans talking about the diverse international fanbase. I just usually chalk it up to the unknowingly(?) xenophobic attitude of growing up in a largely homogenous society.
