I've seen a lot of people here use it to gain subscribers. But, whats the point if people just subscribe for like a few hours to read your fic and then unsubscribe?Then, it's pointless.But I feel very tempted to use it. What do you guys think?
I sort of just never unsubscribe to any stories I read because I want to support the Author. Then again, I am new to AFF and it might stem from that BUT I know that many authors just want to know that some readers really want to read their fics. I am neutral for the most part and think if you write stories it's really cool to see many strangers just become dedicated to reading your fic. It's up to the writer/reader because to each their own.
It's fun! I made a story in two volumes. My second volume is subscribers only and with that I can actually see who are the ones who actually read and enjoyed my fanfic! ;)
tbh for some reason stories that has the subscribers only option turn me off and i usually skip over them and not read them at all. i know its super judgemental of me to say this but it just gives me the impression that you're cocky about your work and only certain people are "permitted" read it. as if it's something exclusive or something idk.
I use it and for some of my stories. Not to gain, but to keep track of who really reads it. Too many silent readers. So yeah.. heh.. my opinion tho.. if you want to use it, it's up to you ^^
