Personality: Chung Ae has a very peaceful personality. She is quiet and only speaks when spoken to. She's very forgetful and is always forgetting everything, even simple things like brushing her teeth. She needs constant reminding about things, and even then she'll still forget. However she has excellent long term memory and once she learns a dance or song she never forgets it, so is excellent at mimicing dances from other groups. Chung Ae hates fighting and refuses to do so, even on game shows. She is polite and is very respectful towards her elders. Although Chung Ae has never been in a relationship, she gives excellent relationship advice. It's the sort of advice you'd need to think over for a few days, almost like a fortune cookie. Chung Ae is extremely good with kids because she can get down to their eye level, and she's really good at translating baby talk. She's very mature for her age.

Sometimes the two preform as a duo on tv shows preforming ballads with Taeyeon singing and Chung Ae playing the harp. Even though they have a large age difference, because of Taeyeon's childish personality she actually seems younger at times.

Family background: Money was hard when Chung Ae was born. Sooyoung had just opened his electronics store and Mi-Yul was in the hospital with pneumonia. It was a while until money became stable, which was when Chung Ae turned seven. To make some extra money for her family Chung Ae learned to play the harp and would play on random street corners. She got generous tips from people. A talent scount saw her when Chung Ae was ten and offered her an audition spot. Chung Ae knew how good it would be to become an idol because fo the pay and accepted it. Now that she's an idol she give half of the money she earns to her parents and sister.
