Why I like 2ne1 and Big Bang
First of all, I saw a post of CL which was posted by 'allkpop'. It said 2NE1's CL goes for a daring look by cutting her bangs for 'Glacéau Vitaminwater'. What sadden me was the fact that some certain kpop fans called CL 'ugly'. This has actually inspired me to write this post. I'm warning you this will be a long post.
It is oblivious that Big Bang & 2ne1 tends to have crazy style. From what I have noticed in this site, not many people tends to write about them. Due to the fact that SM have many numbers of crazy fans and especially people tends to write about EXO. Keep in mind I am a big fan of EXO as well. Despite Bigbang being very unique, people don't acknowledged them because they usually don't pull any kind of aegyo like SNSD, EXO; you name them. Bigbang and 2ne1 are two bands with every members being talented and I must say 2ne1 is the first band that I have liked every members. GD and CL are both truly inspriring as they could write their own songs for their solo and their members. This is a rare case for K-POP bands and this is one of the reason why I LIKE THEM. Secondly, I feel such a burden when people don't actually like them because they are not good looking enough. This statement is referring to CL being called 'ugly'. Ugly is such a cruel word to use. Bigbang and 2ne1 don't focus on their looks as much but they produce an extremely good piece of MUSIC. The fact that some kpop bands sings songs that are meaningless is an extreme case of baffled as my assumption lies with a question 'are they just selling their looks?' This is the second reason why I like them because they can produce meaningful lyrics. Thirdly, I know every band actually trained for years and years to be in a kpop band but never have I been so touched by the hard work bigbang and 2ne1 performed. I have watched bigbang documentaries and I was so shocked at how hard they train. That was the third reason.
I hope I have changed your mind slightly. Good artists do not have to sell their looks to gain huge number of fans because frankly music aritists' job is to please the fans through 'good and meaningful songs'.
