My Life

History: Kim Dae Ho is one of the people who suffered from oppression. He was abused by the peacekeepers many times starting at the age of 8. He never knew what he did to deserve such treatmeant, but at any time of the day he would always be whooped or spanked. His district is under tyranny so thats probably one of the reasons why they were so harsh on him, but he didn't seem to know at such a young age. So whenever a peacekeeper happened to ask him somthing or tell him something if he stuttered or didn't answer, they would punish him harshly. It was a bad childhood for him, but it didn't even stop when he got older. At the age 12 they still whooped him for the fun of it, just because the stupid peacekeepers were used to it. Since there was so much abuse going on in his life he learned how to keep low and hidden. He wanted to stay away from the peacekeepers at all times so he taught himself how to use mud to camouflage into the trees. It was a shot to stay hidden, and it was a succsess. He would try to be very sneaky around them at all times.

During that same year he tried to learn how to use a sword, or at least a bow and arrow. Considering that he succeeded in camouflage he wanted to at least be prepared if they somehow caught him. Don't get him wrong though, he wouldn't want to kill the peacekeepers, he just wanted to use self defence. Since he only had one sister he also felt the need to protect her, so the least he could do was to learn how to use the sword. He started off by using a stick as his 'sword' since he didn't really supply weapons, but a few months later his father saw him practicing with a stick and gave him a real sword that he had supplied. So he managed to practice with it at times. He soon started to become more skilled with the use of camouflage since he was very detailed with the paint brush (he had to search vigorously for), and he could blend in with almost anything he knew how to paint. Most of the colors were blackish brownish becuase he was only supplied with mud, but he knew that other colors were going to be perfect as well.    

Personality: Kim Dae Ho is a very sensitive person, he's very quiet and reserved as well. Considering that he was mistreated and abused for most of his life, he didn't speak at all. Oppression really did change his life and made him pretty much mute. He couldn't speak well with anyone, not his parents or even his sister. He would just nod and walk away, it's like speaking wasn't even a part of him at all. He's broken down inside becuase of this so his confidence level is not very high. But people don't tend to notice him, so he likes it that way. Apart from that, he's a very nice person, he's well mannered and concentrated. Since he used his own camouflage method, he is a pretty smart kid. Even though he doesn't show it at all, he's good with his mind. If he somehow conjured up a plan at the top of his head, then he's most likley going to persue it. But when it comes to disscusing his ideas or plans with someone then he wouldn't be considered a genious. As I said before he doesn't speak that much, his vocabulary is limited to 'Thank you' or 'Your welcome', he doesn't even say hello or goodbye. It was mostly nodding on his part. 

Since he's sensitive he can't stand killing, he doesn't even like to watch it happen. Since he was abused in his past he didn't like the idea of hurting others so he tried his hardest to not have to kill during the games. But he didn't have to worry about hurting others becuase most people don't even notice him, he's always quiet and hidden well, some people would say "Huh? Who's Kim Dae Ho? Wait -  you mean mouse?" becuase he's just so secreative. Also when someone happens to notice him, they would see him reading since it would look like he's busy. As I've said before he's nice, but he doesn't show it. He would usually bring a book up to his face so he wouldn't have to talk to anyone, he preferred it that way. He thought it was good to only be kept to yourslef. 

People consider him very well mannered and mysterious if they happened to notice him. They would see that he doesn't talk much, but they always see him bow to elders. It surprised a lot of people (that noticed him) since this was the hardest time in life, and yet this one boy seems to always be so respectful. The secreat to this was that he didn't want people to question his 'quietness' and talk to him so he just showed his respectful side, to make people just leave him alone. Even when he simply nods(like usual) they would just think he was being his old respectful self. When in reality he just couldn't speak, his past is too much of a hinderence to him so he can't bring himself to speak.

Family's Reaction:  His sister was heartbroken even though she seemed mean, she couldn't let go of the hem of his shirt. His father was very upset and he tried to pull his sister away while the mother was crying.

How did you receive token:  His father gave it to him on the day he was going to be reaped, his father just wanted him to know that his family is always with him.
Who visits before you leave:  His friend, Choi Woo In visited him because they are practicly best friends. He's known him ever since he used to get abused. He was the only reason why he didn't commit sucide becuase of the abuse, so he loved him dearly like a brother he never had.  They bro-hugged and Woo In gave him good advice to never give up. Although he didn't speak to him (like usual) he was content knowing that he had a friend who could take care of his family for him. 

Training

What do you do during public training:  Use the camouflage to his advance. He would paint on his hand and try to mimic the colors of the Tree's and grass, or anything that could be of use in the arena. 
What do you do during private training:  He would practice with the sword and attempt to use the Bow & arrow.

Interview 

How do you act during the interview:  Since he's mute he won't speak much, who am I kidding, he won't speak at all. Even though he is well mannered, he still isn't comfortable with speaking. This part of the games is considered the scariest for him, the arena doesn't even scare him as much. He hates the fact that he has to speak, he's been using distractions for most of his life just so he couldn't speak. So during the interveiw he would occasonaly 'try' to smile and nod with what the interviewer is saying. If there happened to be a question then he would answer very shortly, even if it was a question like "How do you feel about being chosen?" He would just look down and simply say "Bad." If there was any question that goes by saying 'Yes or No' then he wouldn't hesistate to just say either of the two. When it gets to questions about his life and during the oppression days, he would get very sensitive, so he would frown out of habit. Instead of answering anything about that he would just try to keep a calm face say "It's a good thing it's over now..".

What is your strategy in the games:  To stay hidden, and attack when necessary. For example, if there was someone threatening him with a gun, then he would try to knock him out, not kill him though. He's very good at putting people to sleep or to just knock them out, he learned this while reading a book about the human body.
