Why I don't listen to kpop as much as I used to.

I miss old kpop. I miss 2007-2009.The sincerity in the music I fell for is no longer there. The music is no longer strong, unique or  remotely captivating in the slightest bit. Groups and companies do not care much for the music or pushing their artist to grow and develop in their own unique way. A majority of the material that are being released are nothing but generic, boring, and superfluous.

I have come to the realization on how shallow and sham everything is. All kpop idols talk about is their image, their hair, their weight, their fans, and how perfect they are. They have no opinions on anything to the slightest degree. They never say anything meaningful or sensible for that matter. The albums and music are manufactured. The songs are promoted for a few weeks and then long forgotten. Only a handful of idols can actually sing and dance, but so many are just pretty, empty shells.

The companies keep coming up with different tactics to sell fans more and more: different versions  of an album that has one new song. Encouraging fans to buy their idols expensive gifts and food. Who needs that and how long can we actually be using the said gifts?

The fans express such an amount of chauvinism towards their bias. Like who wants to even talk when all you'll do is bash and berate others for their choice in music?

So many countless times, I have continuously attempted to follow new releases and check them out in case something catches my attention but sadly it doesn't. I'm pleased with Block B's comeback but nothing has rekindled my burning passion for kpop.

I have lost all interest in Bigbang and I do not following any of their activities like I used to. I do not care for K-pop anymore.

I remember when I first got into k-pop 7 years ago, and I was like "wow they sing so perfectly and are insync when they dance", "the music videos are so pretty and flashy, so are the girls and guys" and everything just stayed the same from then on. It was all the same thing over and over again, for a majority of the time.
I used to stan a lot of groups and artists (Suju,Bigbang, 2PM, G Dragon, TVXQ, etc...), watched a whole lot of variety shows but I guess you move unto the next thing.

Kpop is nothing more than a genre that I used to listen to and I'm slightly taken aback when I see kids being
so obsessed with their idols, variety shows and what nots.

It’s become nothing more but a sweatshop full of horrors and scary things.

A major factor that contributes to my disenchantment with the genre comes purely from the fact that: that was then and this is now. I am no longer a child. As a teenager, I seeked  to find a place to belong, but, at the same time, I searched for a place that made me an individual, a place that distincted me from other teenagers. For me and a lot of people out there, I think K-pop was/is that outlet that allows you to be weird and stupid at the same time.

But now that I look at it, I'm on the verge of entering the real world. As I mature, reflect and start taking a closer look at things, the whole idea of idol groups and stan has gotten a bit silly and immature. Moreover, friends  of mine that were previously engrossed in K-pop with me seem to have moved on with their lives and passed through the same disenfranchisement.

K-pop is no longer something I revel in anymore. And will most likely never go back.

Very interesting!
That's true: a majority of kpop is bubblegum pop, and is "manufactured" to appeal to the tween/teen audience for one reason....
(I bet you can guess it!)
It starts with an m and ends with an y: money!
If you look at Kpop groups, where do they come from?
They are chosen by some company.
Kpop groups aren't a "hang out in basement, snort paint, and wrote songs about being loners!" kind of band.
Those company hire song writers, directors, producers -- the list goes on and on.
Hell, they even have meetings that decide the fate of the idol!
The idol is a puppet, and I wonder how delusional they are!
