Co-author

Can someone please tell me what are the advantages and disadvantages of being a co-author?? I would really, really like to know! ^^

Advantages: You could do anything you want in the story as long as the original author allows you to.
Disadvantages: If the story doesn't get as many subs, you're the one who blames yourself.
Haha. I's still not sure about the disadvantages though.
