HOW DO YOU ACT?

TRAITS: calm, laid-back, creative, lazy, uncaring, ignorant

PERSONALITY: Sanha is the kind of girl who doesn't give a flying fish about you or your petty little troubles. She's really only ever concerned with her life, and even then only just. In her opinion, life is too short to do things you don't feel like doing. As such, she only turns in things right before they're due. She's always in a rush to meet deadlines, but you'll never notice because she's just so calm about everything. She'll smile, and she'll laugh, and she'll frown, but she'll never get hysterical or burst into tears. When faced with a difficult problem, she'll think about it for a bit. Then she'll go outside and watch clouds for a while, or hang out with friends, or watch movies. Only after that will she come back and finish working on the problem. She dislikes being responsible for a project and usually tries to shove reponsibility onto other people so she has more time to watch movies or play games or whatever she feels like doing.

At first glance, Sanha appears to be a great listener. She'll actually sit there while you talk, making noises of agreement or sympathy appropriately. Then you ask her for her opinion, and she goes "Hmm? What were you saying, again?" She only lends out things if she has extras because she doesn't ask for things back. She doesn't bother to remember birthdays (or other details about the people around her). She's not forgetful -- she's just reluctant to put in the effort necessary to remember such things. She doesn't have much of a brain-to-mouth filter, either, and she has a tendency to be brutally honest.

HOW DID YOU GET HERE?

BACKGROUND: She grew up in a neighborhood that was ridiculously middle-class. It reeked of middle-classness -- there were nice little cookie-cutter houses, children playing in their driveways, while their parents sat in lawn chairs with cans of beer and watched them indulgently. She had an older sister and a younger brother, but her parents were actually really good at paying attention to all of them equally, so she never felt ignored or anything. She did better in school than her sister, but not by much -- she wasn't the top of the class, but she wasn't at the bottom, either. She had a group of friends that she often hung out with but weren't super close to. She went to university because her parents pushed her to do so, and she didn't really think about doing anything else. Sanha's just been striving for mediocrity her whole life.
CURRENT: She currently lives in the housing building. Her parents have allowed her access to their bank account - she has a credit card - but have put some restrictions on her spending.

LOVE INTEREST: Kim Joonmyeon

PERSONALITY: Kim Joonmyeon is the resident man-behind-the-scenes. If you ask your average student who "Kim Joonmyeon" is, you'll most likely recieve a blank stare and a "who?" If you're lucky, you might get an "doesn't he run some charity for small animals?" If you're very lucky, someone might put a name to the face and go "that kid? He's really nice."

If you ask one of his friends, though, you'll recieve a long rant expounding all of Joonmyeon's flaws (he's a weakling and makes dumb faces) and quirks (he's pretty much an elderly). After they've got you half-convinced that he's an incompetent clown, they'll throw out an off-handed "he's also possibly the most loyal, selfless, helpful, genuinely nice guy I've ever met". He supports his friends through everything. Being Joonmyeon's friend is sometimes like having your own personal cheerleader, who'll give you pep talks and buy you food and stuffed animals. Even many who aren't his close friends have recieved some of his support -- he's willing to go out of his way to cheer someone up.

Joonmyeon always diverts attention from himself with a sidestep and a smile. Some say he's just modest. Some say he's truly uncomfortable with attention. Some say he's just boring and doesn't naturally attract it. Whatever it is, he attends a lot of clubs and does well enough in his classes, but he never takes leadership positions or really stands out. Instead, he'll cheer on his friends and help them stand out, while stepping back into the shadows and beaming like a proud father.

FIRST MEETING: They first met in front of a vending machine in the student cultural hall. The machine ate her money but didn't spit out her drink, so Sanha just shrugged and walked away. Joonmyeon, who was behind her, stopped her.

"You just have to kick it a couple of times," he said.

She stared at him. It seemed kind of like a non sequiter -- kick what? "Are you trying to come on me?" she asked. "Because that's cool and you're pretty good looking, but I make it a point to get to know a guy first before having or anything."

He laughed and ducked his head slightly in embarrassment. "No, the vending machine. It's a little recalcitrant. You just have to kick it a couple times."

EARLY FEELINGS: She thinks he's a really nice guy, if a little shy. She calls him up just to chat if she's feeling bored and her girl friends aren't up to anything. Somehow, he doesn't bore her, and his impeccable work ethic actually motivates her to work at times.

FUTURE: I really don't mind. They can end up together, or they can break up on amicable terms and remain friends, if not lovers, or they can break up messily and hate each other for the rest of their lives. I suppose I'd rather have them break up amicably - maybe Sanha decides she wants someone who's not quite as saintly?
