smh at bts boy in luv mv

i don't think i've ever seen anyone address this issue. not really an issue, but i could totally imagine otherwise if this happens in real life.

i'm talking about the scene with the main girl in it. and the way the boys treated her. i dont like it the tiniest bit.

now, i dont have anything against BTS and the song is rather catchy tbh, but the problem is that it seems like NOBODY is bothered with those particular scenes. And here I am feeling disturbed over those seconds. When i look at fans' reaction, most find their bad boy charms attractive, but those things they did to the girl (prior the confession scene) were pure harassment. They were violent with her. I'm not all that uptight about depiction of violence in mainstream media. a considerable amount is acceptable, especially on videos that is targeted towards mostly teenagers (read: MINOR).

Imagine those things happening to you: a boy at school came to you and treated you that way, shake you, push you against the locker, push your face. It physically HURTS, and mentally traumatizing. If i have a boy who treats me like crap and force-drag me somewhere, i would totally get scared less. that or i'd just kick his balls unless he tells me where he's taking me. i dont know, that guy might do unspeakable things to you.

I thought the disturbing part is over but then teh confession scene. The girl got attracted to a boy who simply make corny confession to her and yet had his buddy force-drag her there? sigh... just.... NO.  fine, maybe after she headbutt him or something. i mean boys who treat girls like that deserve a lesson or two, so.

the blame is not all on the boys, they're just acting, of course, and the most part is on their agency who approve the whole production. other than that, i just hope fans don't just gush over these bad boy charms. it's attractive because your idols did it. It's a nightmare if it actually happens in real life. this is how mainstream media twisted the way we think. I just dont want young girls to think lightly about those scenes just because it was an 'acting'. It's not about your idols, it's about how you react and perceive those acts.

food for thought.

this is late; i was just scrolling through the rants tag. anyways, yeah, i agree, those scenes were completely unnecessary. even jin apologized profusely after shooting the scene. people might like bad boys but this is bordering assault, lol.

a lot complained. even some fans complained. it's just that the other fans are blinded by the boys, they didn't discussed about the plot that much. I understand your feels. I wish they would make an mv about students' struggles again instead of mistreating girls just to look manly. This is the reason why I prefer the dance version... I'm judging fans who said they want bts to be rough like that...
