I need your thoughts on Caught on Tape!

sigh, I want to reach my main audience but at the same time, I feel that if I put this as an update to the story, I'll get people's hopes up unfairly? That's what I get for not updating for months...anyways, copy/pasting this from my tumblr! I've already gotten a lot of wonderful responses though, I'm very lucky (:

To my dearest, sweetest, most patient and kind readers —

I’m conflicted. Let me start by repeating that I won’t abandon COT. I never thought I’d be the kind of writer who leaves works untouched for months at a time, and I’m not proud of it, but that’s school and real life and time management for you. I mean, I’m supposed to be writing an essay right now….

My original storyline had resolution and an ending in only two more chapters. As the writing process is organic, plans change. I see the potential for a longer storyline. On the plus side, it would allow my characters some time to grow and develop and it’d have a sincerity that my current outline lacks in comparison. They aren’t that underdeveloped though, and I’m sure some people just want them to get it on/over with.
So with regards to the story, what would you rather see? Don’t worry about what you think I want to hear: if you want it shorter and sweet, I won’t assume you’re sick of my writing and just want it done. If you want it longer, I won’t assume that you think the story is currently boring as . Just tell me (on anon if you MUST but there’s no reason!) what you think would be better for the story. Not sure which direction I’m leaning in now? Thanks, lovelies."

By longer, I'm thinking...up to 4-5 more chapters? and a longer wait for a happy ending, but NOT all angst and awful tension in the middle. i want more character development, less AND more -- more space to work with so that an absence of can contribte to things -- i don't know. i have outlines in mind!!!!!!!!1

Feels like it's been rambling for a bit (no offense) but the China twist was great! Whichever one you feel like is better after reading/writing both is good ^^

I love character development, relationship development and whatever. And I'm kinda in love/hate with angst. Like I'm in fricken love with it, but it's painful. Cause it takes you like in an emotional roller coaster kinda thing (and yes, roller coasters are amazing. The real ones, too.) Well. I cannot even explain. ^^;
and no, it's not boring as . Omfg. How can you even say that. Think that. Fml.
ANYWAY. I love the fic. I love the storyline. I love eunhae. I love you.
I shall continue to wait for your update. ♡ and, take your time... omgeh. Not rushing you. ^^;

(just saw this now so exscuse my very late comment)
I've been reading COT since the first couple of chapters where out and, even though it's taken more time than i expected to finish, I'd never abandon this one! Your story is already great, sweetie! The characters are pretty well developed and all! Don't worry about that!
However, if you feel like it, i would personally love to see more chapters! Definetely. I think there's much room for more about the relationship of those two. But know this, this fic has never once bored me. Whatever you decide I will definetely keep reading! All the best~

I just saw this now, but honestly I would like it longer, although fluffy chapters are very tempting to chose, but I feel like something longer would fit more :) and thanks for not abandoning it! I was scared you had done it since I hadn't found this blog update ><'

I won't mind if you do it longer. Maybe I would say I'd like it shorter and sweet and fluffy, because sometimes I can't handle all the heartache. But you have this wonderful and beautiful writing skills so whether you write something short or longer, I'll love reading it :)

it's up to you, but i wouldn't mind if it's longer. actually, i prefer, cause it's more story to read until it ends >( heheh and if you think that like this the story would be more complete and developed, so go on :-) <3

The only real reason I'm gonna say a shorter, sweeter ending is because I can't stomach angst all that well TT_TT So naturally, I tend to be a er for fluff. But if you want to make it longer, I won't mind :)

I'm not sure if what I'm going to say will help, but you should make it not too long and not too short at the same time. That doesn't make sense, does it n_n;
Tbh I first started to read this because of the smex, but all the backstory and realism behind each character are absolutely awesome, and make the story great. That's why I'd say to make it longer, just to read more of it.
I'm not sure if I fully grasped the meaning of your blog, but longer could usually mean forcing yourself. And endings are usually hard to write with long stories (or is it just me?), so shorter could be good too.
I think it all depends on how you feel? I mean I'd probably chose a sweet/happy ending if I really must, hahaha.
Oh my God I'm sorry for all the nonsense I just said orz but whatever you'll decide I'll be happy to read cot :D

I vote longer because I think this story has become something amazing and I would love for you to be able to give its worthy ending. Short and sweet would somehow feel like cheating this wonderful fic you've created. It'll wait a long time even if I have to!

AH I've been thinking a lot about this story recently thank god I came to check on it :D hmmm well I'm really obsessed with it actually so I'd love more chapters ~ I hate seeing stories end especially good ones like this one (;u;) and if you think you could develop the characters even more and have a good continuing plot then I would say go for it!! But whatever you think will work best though!! Good luck and I look forward to the next chapter!!!! (^0^)
