Personality :
There's a reason Hanbyul's the leader of JANUS, but really, you wouldn't see it at first glance. Before the wonders of makeup and dance training got to him, he was an ugly, scrawny geek; while he doesn't look like one anymore, he's certainly still one in terms of personality. As you can most likely tell from his likes/dislikes, he's into comics, anime and giant robots; he totally geeks out over them when given the opporitunity and is surprisingly knowledgeable about them, to the point where he can name super obscure giant robot anime from, like, the 80's. He's also pretty awkward around girls; he's got one he adores in a fanboyish way, but he can't even talk to her. He actually stutters around people he's nervous about meeting, be it the members or the CEO or even really pretty fans. He can't speak in Seoul dialect to save his life, and his Masan accent really adds to the fact that he's a dorky dork somehow. He's also a total klutz...he's fell down walking onstage before and stumbles the most out of all the members when they're practicing dancing.  He's easily scared of scary movies and literature, which is why the members watch those when they have time...scratch that, actually, the members  all the time. It's to the point where international JANUS fans kind of worry for his happiness. (Hanbyul knows it's all in good fun, but it hurts a little bit.) He'll also probably be in tears when the group gets their first win, whenever that may be. On stage and on camera, his geekiness gets waay played up, and he's seen as really awkward and clumsy.

So you're probably thinking, "So why's this guy the leader? Is it just because he's the oldest?" Well, yeah, that's part of it. Another part of his leaderly-ness is Hanbyul's musical talent; he's been playing piano since he was around four or five and composes music on a regular basis. There never hasn't been a time where music hasn't been his passion, despite his generally nerdy interests (in fact, his music + his nerdiness often combine), and now that he's being paid (barely) to sing pretty much 24/7, he couldn't be happier. He might not be able to dance (or dance well, anyway) or rap whatsoever, but he's so happy to be singing that he's fine with doing either of those if he has to. Another part of his personality that makes him a good leader is his sensitivity; he can tell when s are down and knows what to say to pick them back up again. He always, always always  always puts the other boys before he puts himself; they have to be okay before the leader's okay or nobody's okay. He makes sure they're well fed and, while they're all having their relationship issues, he'd rather give advice (though it's not always good advice, what with Hanbyul being so socially awkward) than focus on the girl of his dreams. He'd gladly give up everything for the other members of JANUS, which is the main reason why one of the more socially good members isn't the leader. Hanbyul is willing to self-sacrifice.

Background :
The oldest of three brothers, Hanbyul was born and raised in Masan, South Korea. The first four years of his life weren't eventful other than his first younger brother being born when he was two (Hanbyul was six when his second little brother was born), but as soon as he was four, his mother enrolled him in piano lessons. Hanbyul was a prodigy - he picked the instrument up almost immediately, and though his four-year-old self was mostly interested in watching robot shows, even his four-year-old self knew that he wanted to play piano growing up. He started taking singing lessons when he was about 9, and auditioned for SM Entertainment when he was 11. Not a lot happened in his childhood, other than his two brothers, that was particularly dramatic; in fact, until he auditioned for SM, he actually had never left Masan.

Idol faceclaim : Go Sang Gil
Backup idol faceclaim : Park Jiho

Style : First off, nerdy T-shirts - he wears them all the time. The links I'm about to show you are just a few in his collection [1 2 3 4 5].  Secondly: skinny or straight leg jeans, because Hanbyul's got really long legs that he actually knows what to do with [1 2 ]. Thirdly, Converse One Star sneakers [1] and a leather jacket [1]. Honestly, thanks to his extreme lanky lankiness, Hanbyul doesn't look good in really fancy clothing; that's fine by him. He just dresses casually unless the company has a tux for him, really.  He doesn't even wear accesories if he doesn't have to.

Stage name : Nova
Persona : The Clumsy Captain
Subunits: ARCADIAN, MC, Actor
Position : Leader, lead vocalist

Fanclub name : Robo-Piano
Fanclub colours : #08088A

Training years : 13 Years

Trainee life: The #1 reason that Hanbyul had to train for so long before debuting was thanks to the fact that he couldn't dance in the slightest; his vocals were solid and it wasn't like he was going to be rapping anyway, but seriously, this boy couldn't dance. He'd trip or miss a step or fall behind...that, plus his dorky dorkiness, kind of made the other trainees not like him very much. His closest friend, Junmyeon, was another trainee that ended up training for a very long time, and Hanbyul pretty much only had him within the company. His visits home for Masan were the best...until the company decided to debut him.

 kim nam joo

Love Interest + Backup : Namjoo (A Pink) + Lizzy (After School)
Nickname(s) : Just Namjoo-sunbaenim and Hanbyul-oppa.
Group :  A Pink

Personality : There's very little to hate about Namjoo, at least in Hanbyul's opinion. She's sweet, she's got a good sense of humor (though it can be a little bit grating at times), she's cute (to the point where her over-cuteness also gets annoying), she's a good singer (the second best in A Pink, if you ask me) and she's generally pretty perfect. She's pretty hyperactive and can be a lot to handle, but she's easygoing when it comes to most things and isn't the type of girl who holds grudges. You'll also never be bored around Namjoo, because she's simply fun to be around.

How they met
Actually, A Pink's promotions for Mr. Chu ended near the same time Janus debuted, and one of the more outgoing members of Janus convinced their leader to introduce themselves backstage.

How they act around each other: As you know, Nova loves A Pink. He's Namjoo-biased. When they're around each other, frankly, he's trying not to fanboy or break into My My or something embarassing like that; in Hanbyul's view she can do no wrong. Meanwhile, Namjoo was attracted to Hanbyul despite the age difference between the two as soon as she saw him, and she's been harboring a cute little crush on him ever since. Because of that, these two are just awkward around each other...feelings clashing every which way and such.

Status : His fanboy love of her is clashing with her actual love of him.

Comments : I hope you like this nerd.
Suggestions : Hello Baby, first off; JANUS fans doing something scandalous; some scandal withint he group that breaks the members.
Scene requests :  Namjoo confessing and Hanbyul freaking out.
Scandals? Trainee wrote EXO's Angel? (Not true. Trainees don't have that kind of creative control anyway; it was a rumor and nothing more.)
