For all the f(x) fans out there, I think it's obvious that the girls will come back during the summer, which I think is great since all the students are on break/vacation during the summer. But I am feeling shaky about this upcoming song or comeback. If you guys have seen the mnet show GOf(x), then you must have seen the choreography part. The last thing f(x) want to do is to have a y concept. 

Although F(x) have done that before (Mr. Boogie, which I thought was good), they're not strong enough. F(x) is weak in the sense that they can't push very far with the y concept as a group. With Amber in the group, I don't think SM entertainment will have the guts to push their y concept far.  Most likely, they will make f(x) be chic, cool, and y. This will kill the group. 

Everybody needs to know that girl groups do y concepts to attract male fans. (Seriously, y concepts are for guys) Females fans tends to hate girl groups with y concept. Maybe I should not use 'hate' but for the most part they prefer girl groups that are chic. Majority of f(x) fans are girls, so the artsy, indie, weird type of concept that SM did with Nu ABO and Pink Tape were fantastic. People that like weird stuff (including me) will like f(x) because they are doing things that are different in the kpop scene. (If we neglect kpop, then f(x) will just be a popish group)

If SM entertainment actually takes the risk of gaining more fans by doing a y concept, then f(x) will lose some of fans they already have. Of course the hardcore fans will stick with them. (The die-hard fans will like it even if their group come out with a folk song) The point is that f(x) needs to target a certain type of audience, not all the audience. Not one single artist can satisfy everyone. For example, 2ne1 went down a bit after I Am The Best because they start singing love songs. People listen to 2ne1 not because they want to listen to love song! They listen to 2ne1 to feel confident, or feel the 'swag'. Same thing applies to f(x), if people want to see some legs they'll watch sistar or hyuna.
