If you guys don't know Lee Michelle, she was originally a member of the YG group "SuPearls" when YG suddenly disbanded the group.

Yes, she is half black AND she speaks Korean. And she has such amazing talent.

Her voice is just BEAUTIFUL here and the MV is JUST PHENOMENAL.

I want to talk about Lee Michelle’s MV and song for just a moment. And why exactly this hit home so bad but in a good way for me.

Growing up half black half white in America brought hardships upon me. I still get some even today. Growing up being constantly reminded by other black people that ‘remember you’re also black!!!’

being called a half n***** (some people are sensitive to this word I will star it) when I moved to West ia, being told I’m pretty because I have white in me. 

I used to be somewhat darker when I was younger. I was told that I would be beautiful if i were lighter. So I’m ugly because i’m tan?? Yet white girls like to go to the tanning bed? Or is simply because I’m tan from being half black? I don’t get it.

I’ve been turned down by guys because I am part black. “You’re pretty are you mixed with something?? I know you are at least part white.” I say yes i’m biracial with white and black. “Oh.” is the response I get and this person disappears.

This being said, I cannot even begin to imagine the hardships Michelle went through being half black and growing up in South Korea. I cannot EVEN. It boggles my mind that she’s so strong through it all and has made her name and has debuted as an idol. And LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL SHE IS. She’s ALWAYS been beautiful but look at the confidence that radiates from her in this MV. While watching kpop star I could tell she was thinking ‘they are gunna turn me down because of my race.’ maybe it may not have been what she was thinking but would you be surprised if it was?? Not me.  The surprise that crossed her face each time she was passed through on that show. This girl is someone I look up to. 

She is beautiful. She is strong. She is amazing.
