Firstly, don't be too shocked i'm not crazy. haha.

So tonight the new year starts. we, iranians (I'm from iran if you didnt know) have a special calender.

It's called solar hijri and the first day of the year, is called nowrouz.

and instead of christmas tree or something like that, we have something really nice :)

It's called 'Haft sin'

It's our traditional table setting and we put 7 things on the table that start with 's'

So haft means 7 and 'sin' is a farsi letter that sounds like 's'

each 'sin' is a symbol of something, wealth, health, fortune, etc.

so today, i put on my prettiest dress and im gonna celebrate it with my family tonight :D
