HUGE LIFE UPDATE.
Hai guys!
I haven't seen you all around in a while and I know, I just KNOW you are all wondering what the heck is going on and why I haven't updated.
I could give you all a TON of excuses and trust me they are all on the tip of my tongue, but I suppose I will just give you the general update of
my life and a little why I have been so scarce.
As you all know or as some of you may not, I work at a department store. I have worked there since last may. I liked my job and was even hired in.
It was my first REAL job. It was something I wanted. On the other hand as many of you know my mom has fallen ill recently with her discovery of
cancer.
Well as of Febuary 14th it was decided that I wouldn't be able to go to work any longer as my mom was way too ill to drive and get around on her own.
It was around this time, she started losing weight drastically and could barely get up to move around. She was vomitting nonstop along with other things
that kept her tied to the bathroom for hours. She wasn't able to eat or drink and her vision was failing. At the time, this was around her second chemotherapy
treatment.
At first the doctors believed she was just dehydrated and would rehydrate her and then just send her home without a second look. My mom continued to get
sicker and sicker. An entire month of throwing up and feeling awful. It wasn't until we went in for her next chemo treatment did the doctors look at her blood work. They immediately stopped her from doing chemo and made us go to the emergency room. The doctor telling my mom that her kidneys were failing and she needed to go NOW.
We left and went to the emergency room to find out that her kidney's were only working at 6%. They told my mom had she waited an hour or so more, she wouldn't have been alive. They didn't understand the reason why my moms kidneys were like this, until they kept her in the ER for 4 days straight. They found out her Diabetes medicine and blood pressure medicine didn't mix with the chemotherapy and it was slowly poisoning her. Upon release they told my mom she had lost 61 pounds of fluid and that if she has another hit to her kidneys like that one, she wouldn't make it.
As of now they have taken her off of both medication, which is both good and bad. My moms vision is bad because of the blood pressure medicine not being there, but she can eat and sleep finally. She gained back most of the water weight that she lost.
AS for me, I was denied for family leave. I had told my job about my mom's illness but they said i didn't not work long enough for job protected leave. My manager instead, ended up pulling some strings for me and said he would sign a paper for me to say I could go on leave, but it's not protected. He said there is a chance that a job won't be there for me when I come back, but he said he will wait for me to come back in July.
But on the plus side, being at home is boring but at the same time relaxing. It's nice to be able to spend more time with my mom, but I know she will be tired of me by July. ;D
I love you guys!
