I think every author can relate to this.

Okay. First of all, this is just a random thought came into my mind. I don't know if what are you about to read is right or is it just me, as an author experienced. Few reminders for you to keep, I am not a famous author nor a very good one. I just started writing fics 2 years so ago.

Actually this post is going to focus more on the problems of being an author rather than the benefits of being one. The following are the only one that I could think of right now. So shall we start?

  • Story plot

This is actually the first problem you'll encouter if ever you wanted to write a story. I mean, come on, H

how can you write a story if there's no plot, right? If ever you'll come up with one, the next thing that might come into your mind that it is very common and it's too plain or too boring. Again, you have to think just to add some twists on it and how it can differ to other stories so that you won't be accused of plagiarism.

  • Choice of Characters

Yes. You might have your bias that would be the protagonist on the story. But, will it fit your character well? Also, the side characters. Some people would prefer OC for the 'bestfriend' and I think, that is the safest choice to do. To be honest, idols coming from y groups or should I say, too y is always the '' type or the queenka or the antagonist in the story. Yes, they look 'y' but sometimes, you just have to let go of that thought. Not all 'y' looking are the only candidates for the antagonist BUT also the innocent looking. Remeber, looks can be deceiving. And also, I think if you're going to choose an angel looking and add her devil attitude, I think, it's more dynamic.

  • Author's block

In every problem that an author can encouter, this is the most irritating. First of all, you can't do nothing about it. I think every author can feel the urgency to update because you updated your story decades ago but you have nothing to write. Looking at your monitor and trying to type some words just to start the new chapter but ending up deleting everything. How do you even overcome author's block? If someone knows, please tell me. Cause I would love to do it.

  • Too busy

Let's face it. We have other things to do in life and not just AFF. School, homeworks, projects and etc. can be those other things that can preoccupy us. These are our top priorities that sometimes would eat up most of our time and even our free time and it just because, sometimes, new ideas would pop in to your mind but you can't write it because you have to finish school works first.

  • No comment and Silent readers

To be honest with you, me, myself don't leave comments. Really. And I feel bad for the author (s) because of it. Seriously, readers should leave some comments. And when I say comments, I mean true comments. Not just the 'update soon' comments. Why? It loses the author's interest (? Is that even the right term for it?). This is another reason why author's can't update soon. Just comment and help the author to keep motivated. It will help a lot on the story's progress plus we want to be credited on our hard work so we could work better on the next update.

  • Plagiarism

So this is one of the major problem that author could ever experience. I don't know if your story being plagiarized is a good thing because it only means that your story is THAT good to be plagarized. Haha. But seriously, some famous authors started to take down their famous stories, or put them in private because of this. We can't do nothing with people plagirism. This is internet. Anyone can do anything or copy anything from here without you knowing. Another thing is, as I've said a while ago, most of the stories are too main stream and in the hundreds or thousands stories uploaded here in AFF, you can't avoid but to have a similar or quite similar to the story you're writing that's why you have to squeeze your brain for fresh ideas that no one has ever thought of.

This are the only things that I could think of, so if you have additional just comment them below. Again, these are based from my experiences that I think every author encountered. I only assumed that most authors have encountered these. No need to get mad if you haven't felt this. So, I think I should end this post. Adios!

I can relate very well to the silent readers tbh xD That matter used to make me feel like I wanna abandon my story lol but now, I'm only focusing on increasing the quality of my writing xD

Hahah! Totally relatable at the author's block part!! Though I write the most when I'm busy, I'd always have my notebook with me or my phone and crazy ideas for fics started to come to my mind. Sometimes in exams I get ideas for fics and started to drabble my ideas on the exam paper haahahaha

as strange as it sounds, i can be inspired to update more easily when busy than when i'm free. i can relate to choice of characters n silent readers though. well, i just gave up n now i don't feel burdened to update since it feels like i don't even have a reader so why would i bother? i can continue the plot in my head? it was because i hate silent readers so much that i make a point to not be one myself. i believe in treating people the way you want to be treated. as for the choice of characters....thank you for a nonshallow opinion about girlgroup members being made into es based on their outward appearance, that's rare...gosh, i've been angered so many times to find my fav female idols tagged in stories only to see them being made as the annoying one dimensional queenka biatch. i've resisted many times from dropping in angry comments in those fics...so far i haven't attack anyone for it but really writers, you don't need to tag someone if she's only gonna be made into such a character bcuz only fans of an artistes would look for her name to read fics rite? idk...

Yes, I can very much relate to this.
It's gotten to the point where I wish there's a disable comment option if I want so that I won't be too hopeful or expectant for comments. OTL...
But I still do appreciate the ones I get of course. From faithful readers and close friends.

Thanks for the tips? cx I actually have always wanted to make story but since I lack imaginations and vocabulary, I am afraid I would stop writing it in the middle lol.
