Thoughts on Lee Hongki and Bride of the Century
I never knew that I would love Lee Hongki's new drama "The Bride of the Century." Honestly, I was skeptic when I heard that he will be starring on a new drama in one of the cable networks. Being a LHK fan, I was quite disappointed that it's a show on a cable network rather than in one of the big three networks in South Korea. Add to that he will be acting as a serious, cold chaebol. A role so far from his real personality and roles that he has undertaken before. I wasn't looking forward to the reviews thinking it's a big possibility that he will make a fool of himself and I really don't want that to happen.
When the first episode of the drama aired, I didn't watch it though I've been looking around for reviews on the drama. I found one and it's not really that positive so I decided to still not watch it. But I checked the OST that was sung by Jaejin. But still, the truth remains that I am a fan of LHK and soon found myself checking out the drama. Lo and behold, I liked it. I didn't expect to like it but I did. I kept on expecting Hongki to act like Jeremy but Jeremy didn't made an appearance, not even once.
Then I watched the second episode and totally fell in love with it. HK and his leading lady has a very good chemistry between them. Though the drama's plot is a so common with the korean dramas, it's still very fun to watch. It's simple, refreshing and so far very relaxing to watch. Then on top of it all, my favorite drama blogger began to review the drama and she's loving it too and giving out the same thoughts as mine.
Finally, I just hope that this drama will get the attention of the major networks that they will make him take part of their dramas. Honestly, I believe that he's one of FNC's better actors. I just hope the netizens will pay more attention to him and FTIsland as well.
