Personality: Miki is fairly shy when you first meet her and is usually quiet until you get to know her. She is very nervous when she meets new people; however, once you get to know her, Miki is really sweet and caring. She also loves her friends very much and would do anything for them, no matter what the cost. She sometimes will get very quiet but snaps out of it quickly and goes back to being her happy self. She tends to worry a lot.

Miki is hopelessly clumsy. No matter how smooth and clean a surface is, she will find something to trip over—even if it’s her own feet. She also always has her earphones in. Her iPod is playing almost 24/7, which is part of the reason she runs into things sometimes. She also sometimes accidentally ignores people when they talk to her if she’s listening to music.

Personal description: Miki likes adding different colored highlights to her hair frequently. She also wears colored contacts almost all the time. Her eyes are naturally a green-brown but she loves wearing unnatural colored lenses: purple, bright blue-green, etc. Her favorites lenses are purple. She likes wearing make-up but is too lazy to do her full face every day so she usually only wears eyeliner and mascara.

Miki has a tattoo on the inside if her left wrist that says, “For every dark night, there is a brighter day.” She got this shortly after her mom and sister died. Her sister used to say it whenever something bad happened, to cheer Miki up and give her hope.

Mother: Kim Haneul-34, deceased. She died in a car accident when Minki was 15.

Father: Kim Jaehwa-38, alive. He loved his kids very much, but changed when his wife and daughter died. He distanced himself from both other children because he was afraid of losing them. He works long hours 6 days a week and has very little free time. He has made his job as CEO of a company an excuse to stay busy and keep his mind off his deceased wife and child. He feels his remaining children look too much like the two killed and only remind him of pain. He sent Miki to a boarding school when her brother graduated and went to university.

Older brother: Kim Myungsoo-19, alive. He cares for his sister very much and tries to take care of her. When their mom died, he became both of Miki’s parents because their dad practically left too. He is very kind and caring and tries to be there for Miki no matter what. He graduated high school and had to go to university.

Twin sister: Kim Mina-would be the same age as Miki, deceased. Mina died with her mom in a car accident when she was 15.

Miki’s family life was practically perfect before her mother and sister died, but after is a whole new story. Before the accident, Miki’s family was very loving and caring towards each other. They got along and had fun together, and they always made time for each other. She and her siblings would fight, but that was no different than any other siblings.

Miki was born and raised in South Korea. She and her sister were identical twins and were practically inseparable. The only time they were apart was when Miki was at dance practice or Mina was in her piano lessons. One day, Miki’s mother was going to the store and Mina went with her. Miki had been at dance practice and Myungsoo was at sports practice. Jaehwa was at work. Suddenly, Miki’s dance teacher received a call, telling Miki to go to the office. When she got there, she learned her mom and sister were in the hospital in the emergency unit because they were in an accident. About a week later, her mom and sister died in the hospital. Jaehwa was crushed and became more strict and cold. Myungsoo was deeply hurt as well but had to be strong for Miki. Miki was the most destroyed; her entire demeanor changed. Her previously carefree personality was replaced by a very quiet and depressed persona. She stopped dancing and almost quit school. The only thing that kept her from drowning in sorrow was her brother’s constant encouragement and love. He knew the pain was hard, but he also knew that Miki had lost a part of herself, her twin. He found that drawing and music were how Miki could escape the pain and encouraged her to pursue both.

Miki finally snapped out of her depression after many many months. She still draws and listens to music often to feel better, but has learned how to keep her mother and sister in her heart without letting it weigh her down.

When Myungsoo graduated high school, he couldn’t take care of his sister 24/7 anymore so Jaehwa sent her to a boarding school so that he didn’t have to lessen his work hours.

Taemin – He met Miki the first week of school in the cafeteria. She had been listening to music and not paying attention when she tripped on the leg of a chair and spilled her drink all over him. His friends seemed more upset than he was. He simply shrugged it off and said it was no big deal.

They became best friends when Taemin was wandering the halls one day. He had been waiting for his friends to get out of their clubs, when he saw a girl sitting alone in the hall. He looked to see who it was and recognized her as the girl who had spilled her drink on him. He laughed to himself before he realized she was crying. He went over to her and crouched in front of her, asking if she was ok. It was the anniversary of her mom and sister’s deaths. She looked up, surprised that someone was there, and tried to compose herself but failed. Taemin didn’t ask any more questions, he simply slid beside her and wrapped and arm around her. She started crying all over again. When she finally calmed down, she apologized for ruining another one of his shirts with her tears. He again told her it didn’t matter and asked why she was crying. She told him the story and said that no one else in school knew. He promised that whenever she needed someone to talk to, he would be there for her.

Taemin- same as above. Miki started falling for him because he would comfort her whenever she was sad. He is like a sun that melts away her cloudy moods and makes her day brighter. She wants to be the only girl in his eyes, but she is afraid he doesn’t feel the same way about her so she doesn’t want to wreck their friendship by making thinks awkward.

Kevin – She met Kevin while in the library. She knocked over a stack of books on his study table. He was really nice and polite but was kind of irritated. They picked up his books together and she apologized about 10 times. She is in the same grade as him and has been crushing on him from afar. He is fairly popular though, and she feels intimidated and doesn’t want to approach him about it

Yoseob- She loves his puppy-like personality and is jealous of his carefree attitude. She met him on the first day of school. She thought he was in the same grade as her until he said he was a senior. She was shocked because of his young appearance and child-like behavior. She is slightly jealous of the girls he hangs out with and wishes she wasn’t so young.

Taemin – he was the first person she ever cried in front of who wasn’t family. She treasures his friendship and tries to always be positive around him because she knows he doesn’t like it when she’s not happy.

Kevin – she always liked him and tries to be nice whenever she sees him

Yoseob – She tries to get noticed, but is afraid she doesn’t exist to him
