Ho-ly crap. This album is amazing.
Here YG, take all of my money. Bought the digital album on Itunes and preordered the Physical album. No regrets. This album is legit. Quality above everything else. You can tell they took their time with it and it wasn't just songs rushed together. Every song on this album can stand on their own as a title track if they wanted. This album reinvented the girls as we know. YG is an innovative company and we know that BigBang and 2NE1 aren't groups to stick to one style for two long. This album is proof of that. You can hear their maturity and much they have improved vocally. Every track showcases all of their voices perfectly without any alterations or constantly drowned out by the beats. All of their parts were distributed equally and we even got to see Dara's sweet vocals showcased more thanks to CL's great direction in her three original songs (My favorite being If I Were You). Wow, the girl was a hidden prodigy. Her composition and lyrical skills can easily match GD's. (Speaking of GD, I loooooooooooooove Good To You.)
I expect a lot from her in the future and it's understandable why everyone was so impressed when she presented them with her songs. The fact that she was able to highlight and showcase the girls voices like never before further shows how much more she understands her members. She allowed them to shine individually and show their treu colors. Oh and don't even get me started with CL's solo.... WOW! Of course she's a lot more confident now, TBF was her first single and I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, though I did love it don't get me wrong, but had it been perfect there wouldn't have been no room for improvement and my goodness did she improve. After TBF, everyone was able to get a better grasp of CL's identity and what she wanted to do outside of 2NE1, which is very different. Harder beats and more hip-hop influenced, definitely a lot darker and heavier than the other females and rapper females in the game. She went hard on that track.
What bothered me was people saying that she didn't deserve a solo. Listen, CL deserves it as much as anyone else. In their first album Bom and Dara had their solo's while CL and Minzy had to share one. I didn't expect a Minzy solo because than what would be the point of her solo debut later this year? Please people, have some common sense. Bom is another who might have a full album to herself so yeah, I could understand the solo was given to CL especially since Bom had 2 solo singles while CL only got one. I WAS hoping, though, for at least a Bom-Dara or Dara solo song, but I guess we'll just have to wait for that one too. Point is, CL's song is one of the best tracks in the album, so yeah. Lol. It's great!
Anyways, the girls all sound so freaking great and this album is just diamond status. So good and worth the wait!
