[140221] Spoiler Alert!! Lucky fans give review of 2NE1’s album “Crush” after “The Listening” event

On February 20, 2NE1 held “The Listening”, a private event for 21 selected listeners to let them listen to the songs in the upcoming album, “Crush”, for the first time and give their evaluation of it. Some lucky fans who attended the event, which the band named shared their review of the songs on the community forum.

According to a post on DC Inside gallery, 6 fans and 15 music experts including journalist were invited to this event that was held at a secret location.

The first song in the album, “Crush”, is an upbeat song like “I’m The Best” and “Can’t Nobody”. It shows a strong image of 2NE1 as they always have and it gives a mysterious vibe. At the end of the song, all the members shout, “Nolza! Nolza! Nolza!”.

The title song, “Come Back Home”, is a song with R&B, reggae, and pop feel. You will know why this song becomes title song of this album after listening to it. It’s really fresh and different from 2NE1′s previous songs.

The second title song, “Gotta be You”, reminds the listeners of “Go Away”, and it shows the beautiful vocals of Park Bom in the chorus.

“Hope To Live” (original title “살아 봣으면 해”) is another R&B ballad song like “Lonely”, “It Hurts”, and “Missing You”. It shows Dara’s sweet vocals in the beginning of the song.

“Mental Breakdown” is a typical YG’s hip hop song that is sung solo by CL. As the title suggests, the lyric of this song will make the listener have a mental breakdown. The song is full of CL’s rap.

“Good Girls” is a medium tempo R&B song about the bad girls of 2NE1 that have become good girls.

“Happy” is a song that can make the listener feel happy after listening to it. It’s a pop dance song that can make us acknowledge the feeling of walking on a road on a sunny day.

All the songs from the upcoming album were played at the event, including “Scream”, “Baby I Miss You” and “Come Back Home (Unplugged version)”. The reviewers said that this album is worth listening to and it could be considered as the best album from 2NE1.

2NE1 will drop the album on the online music charts on February 26 at 24:00 p.m. KST (timezone info here). They will be performing the songs for the first time at their Seoul tour this March 1 at Olympic Park SK Handball Stadium.
