My True Thoughts: Plastic Surgery

Hello, people of the internet~

So, as my title reads, I'll be talking about MY thoughts of the topic PLASTIC SURGERY. I have already talked about plastic surgery on korean idols in the past, but I guess this is kind of like an update of the overall idea of plastic surgery.

Lettuce begin, shall we?

Okay, so if you didn't know, I'm very very heavily influenced by korea. The styles, the music, and the quote "beauty" standard that goes along with it. I personally wanted to get plastic surgery myself. Make my face thinner, my nose smaller, my eyes bigger; but I had no idea i was going by a somewhat "standard" that koreans magically conjured up which screams out "You have to be this way!"

I am personally not a fan of this "standard". And because advertisements like these can be found everywhere in not only korea, I think it influences many girls (and boys) to be "in" this standard. To look a certain way, to dress a certain way, to talk a certain way just to be accepted into society.

And by saying this (or typing this) I'm not implying that I hate plastic surgery, no, not at all. But I am saying that having set standards for todays youth can really mess up their heads (cough, like how it messed with mine). Those cute little girls and boys will probably see these ads and later on ask themselves "why am I not like that?" Not saying it will happen, but possibly.

Another point I want to make is that, even though I am against this set standard of plastic surgery (big eyes, smaller nose, thinner chin, etc), I don't HATE plastic surgery. If you are unhappy about a certain part of YOUR body, I feel that it's your decision to change it. You only live once so might as well live it comfortably and confidently.

But plastic surgery should only be a last resort. Follow up surgeries can cost a fortune after the years and years of touching up. But anyway, like I said, if you really, really want plastic surgery, go and do it. Your life, your body. Someone who is in your life shouldn't be the one to tell you what you can or cannot do with your life. YOU are the captain of YOUR OWN ship; But you want to steer it in the right direction. But if you really go through with plastic surgery, don't put all of your confidence in your appearance. An appearance may draw someone in, but a personality catches them. For instance, you may look pretty, but your personality is very, let's say, heartless. Don't just be another pretty face!

That's about all I have to say about plastic surgery as of right now. And, I'll leave you a couple more korean advertisements I have found.

And lastly... Be confident and live life to the fullest with much memories and smiles.

You see that's the thing.

If people want to do it I say 'go for it' but they should do it, for themselves and not what society thinks they should look like. I like or not like people depending on their personality. Don't care how drop dead gorgeous or handsome you are, if you're a jerk to me, my family or my friends? I have no time with people like that.

Sometimes even if a person does get plastic surgery, they will still get picked on by people...just never ends does it?

The sad thing is, that a lot of the before pics aren't even ugly at all! They just view themselves inadequate, and I have no idea why they would do that to themselves! It's a real pity.
