    ...My History. It shapes who I am.

Background:  Choi Daniel was born in Brooklyn, New York in an upperclass family. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth essentially, and was pampered throughout his childhood. Growing up, he had always loved singing and rapping. Instead of playing robots with the other kids in the neighborhood, Danny will be watching his favorite music videos and practicing his rapping skills. He knew he wanted to do something with these as his career from a young age.

Back in his teenage years, Danny uploads various videos of him doing covers of songs from both the US and Korea. In the age of 18, Danny got a call from one of the YG staffs advising him to audition on YG live, so he flew to Korea the week after, auditioned and got in.

Years as a Trainee: 3 years

How was it?: Danny was lonely the first day he came to the YG trainee building because he only know how to speak in English, until some trainees who can also speak the language came and he felt relieved, he then trained to speak and write in Korean for a year. When he was finally fluent in Korean, he started flirting with the girl trainees and that is how he got the nickname 'The Heartbreaker', because whenever the girl is finally obsessed with him, he dumps her. YG is against flirting, dating or the like between the trainees, but he can't just let Danny go for he is one of his best trainees. Danny came from a wealthy family, so usually he will treat the members for lunch or dinner, although he doesn't like talking about his wealth.

How did you get in?: One of the staffs saw a video of Danny singing to GD's 'Heartbreaker'. He auditioned live and got in.

1) There are so many people out there in the world. Who do you think influenced who you are the most? Who do you look up to the most?

- Myself? [chuckles] Just kidding, umm... I think the one who had influenced me the most is Gdragon sunbaenim. We have the same passion for rapping and performing. He's like an older brother to me, he had always encourage me to never give up on my dream, that's also why I look up to him a lot.

2) Do you have any special talents? Do you have any talents that others would find weird?

- I don't think I have a talent that others will find strange or weird. But I can do math in my mind without the need of a calculator. Sometimes.

3) Do you have an ideal type? If so, who is it? If not, can you describe them?

- [laughs nervously] Umm.. [coughs] Well, I would like someone who's loyal and has a bubbly personality. A girl who catches my attention.

4) What is the most vivid memory you have about your family or your friends?

- The most vivid memory I have is when my dad saved me from being hit by a car, I was 10 at that time. Me and my dad rarely talks to each other, so that memory is very special to me.

5) If you could have a world tour, which country would you like to visit the most?

- USA ! New York ! That's where I was born.

6) Can you give a short message to all your supporters out there?

- Hello !! This is Danny who wants to become famous worldwide like GD sunbaenim. I am in charge of  the rap in my team. I also think I'm the most handsome in my team. Please look forward to Polaris, I hope you will give us a lot of love and support in the future. I love you ~ [makes a heart]
