man idk but inless it's a major note like they're going on a one year hiatus, or they haven't updated in more than one year because there's a big different between one year and one month, or they will be removing the fic and placing it somewhere else, they're giving the fic to somebody else to write..etc

but if it's that they haven't updated in maybe two or so weeks or a month, that they make a a/n chapter with a basically not needed explanation as to why they haven't updated yet like "sorry guys i lost my internet connections..sorry guys i moved into a new house and had to get settled in..etc" and it's especially annoying when they say, but i'll update in a few days!! becasue then what was the point of telling us when you could've just apologized in the a/n of the chapter you were going to post? ;n;

ugh sorry its been bothering me for so long and if you do this well sorry im not trying to shame you or something i mean i use to do this all time when i was new to aff and oh god im so embarressed now
