Trainee Life: She was one of the most popular trainee I must add. Kai and Tao, both are friends and mentors of her that always give advices to her. When she auditioned and got accepted by SM, her family and best friend supported her. She had taken hiatus from her acting activities during trainee years. She stopped acting for those time being. Background:
She was born on April 11, 1994 in California, United States. She is the only child in her family. Her family moved a lot, this is because of her father's job, a former soldier in the U.S. Armed Forces in Korea. But whenever people ask where did she grown up, she will say Japan is her hometown, since she was raised there the longest. She is a half Korean, through her mother's side and through her father, she is of Puerto Rican- Korean descent. That's explain why her look is more to Korean. She is really close with both of her parent. Growing up, sometimes she do feel like a freak, because she is a mixed unlike almost all the other kids around her  but her parent taught her to ignore others' look and focus on herself. The family moved to Japan when she was six months old, then moving back to Korea when she was 6 years old.

Personality: Kai seems fierce and like a playboy but really he’s just shy and also he so fragile. He gives it his all and does what he loves. He can be quite self conscious and awkward when around strangers.  He can be exteremely kind yet when starts making close friends. How You Met: They met by three fateful meeting. Firstly, they met at a shopping complex, a music equipment shop to be more exactly, in 2010. Gia was looking for a guitar as a gift for one her friend. Kai and his trainee friends was there too, he was accompanying his friend to buy a bass. He was walking when he saw a girl at the guitar department through the glass wall, he ws mesmerized by the pretty face so walks in and went to her little by little. Gia was trying to take a guitar that was hanging on the wall when she stumbled backward, as the guitar was quite heavy for her. Kai who were close to her quickly held the guitar before it hit the pretty face of her. She was shock but quickly thanking him for his quick reaction, she also thought he is the person who work there so she asked if he knows which guitar will suit her friend the best. But soon a friend of Kai came and pulled him to somewhere. As the scene past so quickly, Gia just shrugs it off. Secondly, on the same day  Gia was crossing the road, running, because she was late for her practice. She was so into searching the perfect guitar that she forgot about the time. She tripped at the sidewalk when the same guy she met at the shop held her shoulder so that she won't stumbled forward. Yeah, it's him..Kai! This time it's Gia who excused herself quickly after thanking him for the second time that day. The last meeting is at the SM building. It was late and Gia is in her way back to the dorm when she heard a music. She followed the music and found a guy dancing hotly to it. She was mesmerized by it and she remembered that she had seen the guy two times before. After the music stop and the guy stop dancing to it, Gia fake a cough and this caught Kai offguard, literally jumping a little before looking at her.

Interaction: From the surface, Gia isn’t shy of expressing her affection over Kai. As for Kai, he is always ready to help her. Kai also likes to whenever he has the chance, including during onstage/onscreen. Sometimes, she denies the caring gestures, but she really does like them judging by the way she attaches herself to the guy. Kai even does the old school trick of distraction then putting the arm around the other’s shoulder. Very smooth and open minded, it is something that isn't what he usually does, to girls.
