    My Identity. Who am I?

Name: Han Minhak

Nickname(s):

- M. Hawk. His old stage name from when he was in an independent duo. Minhak's old partner sometimes call him this.

- Penguin. When he was younger, his family thought he looked like a penguin and the nickname stuck with him through the years.

Stage Name: Hawk

Birthday: January 15, 1994

Age: 20

Birth Town: Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Hometown: Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Ethnicity: Korean

Height: 181 cm

Weight: 68 kg

Appearance and Style: Minhak is somewhat tall with a slender build. He has the kind of body-type in which it's difficult for him to put on weight, but at the same time, it's difficult for him to gain any muscle, which he sometimes laments over. However, he embraces his thin figure and generally tries to emulate the 'pretty boy' look with his own spin. For example, he's known for using thick, black eyeliner and lensless glasses to make his eyes pop and painting his nails. Sometimes, he wears his hair longer than most K-pop idols are known for doing, but after awhile he ends up cutting his hair back to a more standard length because it's 'too much effort' to deal with. His style can range from a dark, dramatic sort to the standard 'flower boy' sort. It all depends on his mood.
Casual: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 | Practice: 1 / 2 / 3 | Formal: 1 / 2 / 3

Personality: When it comes to a guy like Minhak, people either love him or hate him; there's literally no in-between. On one hand, he's a social butterfly with a clever way with words and a quirky charm of his own, but on the other hand, he's cocky and very egocentric. He's convinced that the world practically revolves around him and his every action. His attitude has the tendency to rub many people the wrong way, but he isn't necessarily a 'bad guy'. Minhak just lives life his own way regardless of what other people think, for better or for worse.

The side of Minhak that most people see when first meeting him is his narcissistic side. His arrogance is rooted in his perceived abundance of talent and excessive belief in his abilities, which never fails to annoy or irritate the others around him. He always has to be the center of attention, no matter what the situation is, and despises when the focus is on someone else. It doesn't matter if it's inappropriate to hog the spotlight or not, Minhak will take it at any given opportunity. No one is as deserving of attention as he is, in Minhak's eyes. Being ignored bothers him deeply and only leads to him trying harder to get the attention that he feels he deserves. To make matters worse, Minhak is incredibly stubborn and cannot be convinced that he's wrong about anything. If someone else's opinion is different than his, he'll dismiss their opinion as being 'wrong' and insist that his opinion is 'right'. Understandably, he can be difficult to talk to because he's so conceited.

To him, the only person whose opinion matters to him is really only his own, which can be good in some ways but also horribly negative in other ways. For instance, unless someone has earned Minhak's respect, he will flat-out ignore any criticism they have to offer and proceed like normal because he honestly just doesn't care what anyone thinks about him as long as he's enjoying himself. Consequently, he's prone to being inconsiderate of others' feelings. He's harshly critical of what others do and isn't shy about making his opinions known, resulting in hurt feelings and shattered egos. After all, he's better than them, so they should listen to him, or so he believes. Otherwise, Minhak is dishonest when it benefits him and compulsively lies to suit his purposes. He has no problem lying to someone about breaking their belongings even if it was on accident, and he's unapologetic to boot. Minhak is typically remorseless when it comes to his actions and will rarely ever apologize to anyone under any circumstance.

Minhak lives in the moment and doesn't like to think ahead. The future is best left as a mystery to him so that he can continue to enjoy to present. His narrow line of thinking means that he's unreliable and childishly irresponsible. He operates based on his whims; he'll only do something if he feels like doing it and will bluntly refuse to do it if he doesn't. Because of his impulsive nature, he can't always be counted on to accomplish what he's told to do and makes him frustrating to work with. It doesn't help that he ignores what others say to him, so he doesn't take their criticism of his attitude into account.

Like other human-beings, Minhak isn't without his redeeming qualities. His sheer amount of confidence is both annoying and overwhelming a lot of the time, but it also means he isn't afraid to take risks and volunteer his opinions when the inspiration strikes him. Unsurprisingly, considering his artistic background, he's a creative thinker with an intuitive mind and the resourcefulness to fully utilize it when he wants to. The scope of his imagination can be astonishing when one overlooks his arrogance and sees his talent for what it is. As something of a perfecionist, he demands perfection from not only himself, but the people he's working with, as well. Though it seems like he couldn't care less about anything beyond himself to most people, it's actually the opposite: he strives to do his best in his own way and expects his companions to follow suit. Minhak accepts nothing less than perfection in his work, especially in a group setting, and won't hesitate to call someone out if they're lagging behind. He's a veritable idealist with a vision of his own, even if his obnoxiousness sometimes obscures that aspect of him.

He isn't entirely unsociable or impossible to approach, either. Minhak's unbridled passion for the things he enjoys doing, like music, is unequivocably pure and what keeps him going through life. Talking about his interests transforms him from being a thoughtless egomaniac into a spirited artist that can go on for hours on end about music's various intricacies and the potential it has. He practically lives and breathes music and doesn't mind sharing that passion with others. Despite often being seen as crass or rude, Minhak has the potential to be well-spoken and witty in the right mood. His sense of humor is a little bizarre, being riddled with puns, plays on words and sarcasm, but he's fond of expressing it when he sees the opportunity to. Fortunately, he has a sense of when his humor is appropriate, as well. When approached with the right mindset, Minhak can be social and friendly.

It's quite difficult to earn his trust and respect, but when somebody does, his demeanor toward them changes completely. Minhak drops his normal condescending manner of speech in favor of a friendly, familiar tone and will instantly become profoundly loyal to them. When it comes to the people he's closest with, he's protective and surprisingly generous toward them; he goes out of his way to please his friends and will protect them at all costs. He's even willing to make sacrifices if it means keeping his loved ones happy and out of harm's way. Although he might not appear to be the devoted type, he's fiercely faithful to his friends and family.

Love him or hate him, Minhak is not the kind of person who can easily be summed up in a word or two. In spite of his glaring faults, he's not such a bad person once someone gets to know him.

Likes:

- Alternative music. He especially appreciates artists that have elements of indie rock and/or hip-hip in their music, such as the Gorillaz, Linkin Park, Muse, Macklemore, and Kanye West.

- Taking naps. Since he doesn't always get proper rest, he'll sneak in a nap whenever he can.

- Gaming. Minhak doesn't have too much time to play video games because he's busy with other things, but when he gets the chance, he happily indulges in them. He's suprisingly good at Starcraft and various fighting games such as Street Fighter and Tekken.

- Japanese food. His favorite dishes include shrimp tempura and kappamaki, a kind of sushi roll that's made with cucumbers.

- Cracking jokes. They range from being 'punny' to witty to just plain dirty. Of course, he knows who he can and can't make jokes with and whether or not a joke would be inappropriate at the time.

Dislikes:

- Coffee. He absolutely despises the smell of it and doesn't like coffee's taste, either. Just the mere scent of it is enough to make him recoil in disgust.

- Sports in general. Minhak has a horrendously unlucky streak when it comes to sports; he almost always ends up screwing up or getting injured in some ridiculous way. He's more of an observer than a participator.

- Spring. Due to having a pollen allergy, he has a tendency to become ill around this time of year. It's very common to see him sporting a mask over his nose and mouth to avoid sneezing on other people in the spring.

- Cold weather. Surprisingly, he gets cold easily. Minhak also thinks that it's annoying to have to go through snow, rain or fog.

- Being ignored. It's the one thing he despises most. He doesn't take being ignored well at all and will often respond with cold behavior in return.

Hobbies:

- Music composition. As a former student majoring in songwriting in high school, Minhak is well-practiced in writing lyrics and composing music and can often be seen testing melodies or lyrics outside of his regular training for fun. He considers it both a hobby and part of his training. It's one of the few things he takes seriously.

- Playing on his cell phone. He likes to watch videos, listen to music and play games like Angry Birds and Tetris on his phone whenever he's bored.

- Watching anime. As a child, he was very enthusiastic about anime such as Naruto and One Piece, and his hobby carried on even into adulthood. However, he's a lot more discreet about it nowadays and prefers that most people don't know that he's still into anime. He doesn't want to be seen as 'childish' and 'immature' for liking it.

Habits:

- Winking. He typically does it when he's either being flirty, joking, or trying to be charming. At times, it can be hard to tell exactly what the intent behind his winking is.

- Light sleeper. Waking up Minhak is very easy once he has fallen asleep.

- Zoning out when concerned about something. It's easy for him to get lost in his thoughts when he's worried because his mind will be focused on that and nothing else.

- Dozing off when bored. Minhak is quick to fall asleep in general, but especially when he's bored.

Trivia:

Minhak is fond of Sanrio merchandise. He owns a Badtz-Maru case for his iPhone, a Badtz-Maru hat, a Keroppi keychain, and pens and pencil featuring numerous Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty. His favorite, of course, is Badtz-Maru because he's a penguin and 'Penguin' used to be his nickname when he was younger.

He's ambidextrous and has no preference for which hand he writes with. Minhak tends to confuse people by switching hands while writing, making many wonder whether he's right-handed or left-handed.

His ideal type is 'preferably human and female'. He never has the same answer when asked what his ideal type is, but whenever he's asked, he has a sarcastic answer prepared. However, his true 'ideal type' is someone who is charming that he can never get tired of being around.

- Minhak doesn't like the idea of aegyo or doing aegyo. When asked to do it, his first reaction is to make a strange face, which can either be silly or downright creepy, for his own amusement.

- He was an underground musician before coming to YG. His partner at the time was none other than his best friend, Joon. They went by the stage names of M. Hawk and N. Falcon, and as a duo, they called themselves Cocka2 (after the cockatoo bird, and because there was two of them).

- Minhak has a tattoo on his right wrist that reads 'live the dream' in cursive English. He got it as soon as he graduated high school.

Back when he was at Seoul Performing Arts High School, he once got in trouble alongside his friend and former partner, Joon, for hiding in the girl's locker room and peeping in on the female dance students getting dressed for practice. They were both suspended for a week and gained a small degree of infamy among the student body. This act also nearly cost both Minhak and Joon their status as Seoul Performing Arts students until they properly repented and apologized by working twice as hard for a month. Needless to say, Minhak never attempted anything similar again and doesn't like talking about the incident.

- He has infamously terrible hand-writing. His friends constantly poke fun at it and compare it to a chicken's scratches in the ground.

- Although his closest friend and younger brother are in different entertainment companies, he still keeps in touch with them. They're both very supportive of him and often tweet messages along the lines of "m hawk hwaiting!" or "penguin hwaiting!" at him.

- In addition to having a pollen allergy, Minhak is also allergic to both cats and dogs. He's usually okay around them as long as he has taken allergy medication, though.

- His younger brother, Minhyuk, is also talented with music and is currently a trainee at SM Entertainment.

- Minhak is capable of playing a few instruments fairly well. He can play the guitar, harmonica, and piano. As a matter of fact, he also carries a harmonica around with him to play when he's bored.

- He most admires Kpop artists that are either in a band (like CN Blue) or have their roots in underground hip-hop (like Zico). However, the group he admires most of all is Big Bang.

- It's rumored that he once broke a YG trainee's heart so brutally that she had to transfer out of the company to avoid him. While an ex-girlfriend of his DID end up transferring to a different company, the rumor is otherwise false.

...My History. It shapes who I am.

Background:

By the time Minhak's mother gave birth to him, his parents were both young college students at one of Seoul's universities, both being business majors. They had been dating for only a year when Minhak's mother discovered that she was pregnant with him. In order to prepare for having a child, his mother dropped out of college toward the end of the semester and his father sought part-time employment in order to start saving up money. The young couple moved into a tiny, two-room apartment together, seeing as they couldn't afford much, which is where Minhak lived during his earliest years.

Though money was tight, Minhak's family managed to get by on their budget. Minhak's father was always busy with either his course work or working his job, meaning that he didn't always have time to spend playing with young Minhak. Even Minhak's mother had no choice but to seek employment after awhile in order to support the family, which typically left him in the care of his quirky aunt, Youngjin, on his mother's side. After his parents married and his younger brother, Minhyuk, was born, his days were generally spent playing at his aunt's house with baby Minhyuk while his aunt busily worked from home. Having been born out of wedlock, Minhak's early childhood wasn't exactly typical, but that didn't prevent him from having a loving one.

His world turned inside-out when his parents fell out of love and decided to opt for a divorce when Minhak was about seven years-old and Minhyuk was only four. Given their young age, it was a traumatic experience. They couldn't comprehend the idea of their parents separating. Their mother took Minhak and Minhyuk and moved in with their aunt, who had generously offered a helping hand, and the divorce finalized. Minhak's mother had custody over both of them, although they were allowed to go visit their father every now and again. Minhyuk took the experience better because he was still little, but Minhak couldn't understand the divorce and became angry with his parents for it.

Feeling betrayed, he started taking that anger out at school. He frequently hit other students and got into trouble with the teacher. His misbehavior hit its worst when Minhak threw water at his teacher, resulting in him being suspended from school for a day. Seeing as his mother was too busy with work to properly deal with him, his aunt took matters into her own hands and decided that he needed a more 'productive' outlet to channel his emotions into: music. Minhak's aunt hired a piano tutor for him and encouraged him to practice in his spare time, but Minhak rebelled at first; he'd hide around his aunt's apartment to avoid having to do piano lessons, he'd scream and cry when his aunt tried removing him from his hiding place, and he'd refuse to play piano once his piano tutor arrived. It took two weeks for his aunt to convince the stubborn Minhak to try. Although naturally, he wasn't any good at playing piano at first, he surprisingly began to enjoy his lessons and gradually spent more and more of his free time practicing. Music distracted him from his problems and reduced his violent behavior at school, quickly becoming his new passion.

Entering middle school, Minhak's musical horizons broadened. He learned to play guitar in his music class and started to get into foreign alternative rock and indie music; he enjoyed how American and European groups had such a unique sound to their music in comparison to pop-dominated South Korea and sought to emulate that unique sound. It was also during this time that he met his best friend, Nam Joon, who also had the same interest in music as he did and shared the same classes. However, unlike Minhak, Joon was more into the underground Korean hip-hop scene and primarily listened to American and Korean hip-hop artists. With some persistence, Joon made Minhak listen to a few mixtapes that he had made of his favorite artists and quickly got him into hip-hop, as well. They formed their own nameless duo (and started calling themselves Cocka2 a little later down the road, as noted above) and applied to the prestigious Seoul Performing Arts High School together. Minhak's mother and aunt were both very supportive, while his father expressed disapproval because he wanted his son to go into an academic high school instead.

Upon both being accepted into the high school's performing arts program, with Minhak going into songwriting and Joon choosing to go into music composition, they decided to take their little duo to the next level and start performing for others. They spent much of their time honing their talents and writing songs together throughout their first year of high school. The two both had talent at playing guitar, but it soon became readily apparent that Minhak was better at rapping while Joon was better at vocals. Many of their earliest songs were undeniably hip-hop, but as time went on, they ventured more into 'alternative hip-hop' territory, combining hip-hop's powerful lyrics and rapping with alternative rock's unique rhythms and sounds. At fifteen years-old, Minhak and Joon took on stage names and performed together wherever they were allowed: around the school campus during breaks, street corners, and occasionally, they were invited to play together in more underground settings. It didn't take long for one of YG's talent scouts to catch wind of Minhak and Joon's minor success and scout them both out at one of their school's talent shows when they were both sixteen.

Family:

- Han Sangmin | 40 | Electronics store manager | Father | Sangmin is a stoic, terse man who has difficulty expressing himself. While he is well-meaning and compassionate, he can come off as cold or like he doesn't care about anyone but himself. In reality, he cares a lot more for others than he at first appears to. | Minhak hasn't talked to his father since he became a trainee. They had always been distant since the divorce, but Minhak deciding to become a trainee created a giant chasm between them. Sangmin doesn't support his son's decision to go into music as a career while Minhak is too proud to want to talk to his father. It's unlikely that they'll speak to each other again any time soon.

- Kim Younghee | 39 | Clerk at retail store | Mother | Above all, Younghee is a hard-working, diligent woman who will make sacrifices to ensure that her family is happy and healthy. Her compassion for her sons is second to none; in fact, she can easily be described as being a 'mama bear'. She is often exhausted and irritable because she works long hours, but that doesn't dilute her love for her family. | Minhak's mother is the only person he will listen to 100% of the time. He holds a profound respect for her and how hard she worked throughout his life to take care of both him and his younger brother. Younghee is unconditionally proud and adoring of her son to the point of frequently bragging about him.

- Kim Youngjin | 43 | Translator for Samsung (works at home) | Aunt | Youngjin can seem callous and rude at first, but she's really just straightforward and not afraid to speak her mind. She has blunt honesty that tends to scare away many people that talk to her. Deep down, she's a genuinely friendly, caring woman that treats her nephews as if they were her own children. | Minhak is deeply grateful to her for giving him the chance to get into music and develop his passion, although he has difficulty expressing his gratitude. His aunt teases him a lot, often calling him a 'no-good punk', but it's just how she expresses her love. They get along well, but get into arguments sometimes.

- Han Minhyuk | 17 | High school student/SM Ent trainee | Brother | Unlike his older brother, Minhyuk is quiet and humble. He tends to shy away from large crowds and doesn't like talking very much, but he can be amiable and outgoing around people he's familiar with. Patient and understanding, he's a reliable person that a lot of people feel that they can turn to. | Minhak and Minhyuk didn't get along well at all throughout their childhood; it mostly involved Minhak bullying and picking on his poor little brother. Nowadays, though, they get along much better. Minhyuk looks up to his older brother, and Minhak revels in his admiration.

- Yoo Soojin | 41 | Homemaker | Step-mother | Soojin is a demure, kindly woman who is gentle in nature, but she has a hidden, subtle passion for life and her family. As easygoing as she is, it's very difficult to anger her, but when she's angered, her wrath is terrifying. She can be stern and scary if she really wants to. | Although Soojin is by no means a terrible woman, Minhak despises her simply because his father got remarried. Despite Soojin's attempts to befriend her step-son, Minhak rejects all of them. Because he isn't talking to his father, he isn't talking to his step-mother, either.

- Han Minah | 2 | Unemployed | Half-sister | As a toddler, Minah hasn't developed much of a personality yet. She's usually in a good mood with a love of smiling and playing with others, but she can be selfish at times and is easy to upset. Nothing upsets her more than when things don't go her way, like many children her age. | Minhak doesn't even know Minah even exists because of his sour relationship with his father. Likewise, Minhyuk doesn't know about Minah yet, either.

Best Friend:

- Nam Joon | 20 | JYP Ent Trainee | Joon is fun-loving and humorous, but at the same time, he takes himself and his work very seriously. He knows when it's appropriate to be goofy and when it isn't. Though he's outgoing and sociable, he's innately mature and has a deep sense of right and wrong. | Minhak and Joon are still the best of friends, even though they're at different entertainment companies. They still text each other daily and hang out in Seoul together when they can. Their days as a duo are over, but they still want to collaborate again in the future. | Joon and Minhak were in the same classes throughout middle school and high school, and even trained together at YG for a short while. They met through their shared music class in middle school where they discovered their shared passion for music.

...My Love. The feeling is indescribable.

Lover: Im Soorin (OC) | 20 | Street performer/college student (fashion design) | Soorin is perpetually bright and cheerful, no matter how hard times get. Her unwavering optimism is her greatest strength; for her, every cloud has its silver lining and even if today was bad, that means tomorrow will be even better. Outgoing, positive, and friendly, she's very easy to approach and talk to. Few are as hard-working or reliable as Soorin is. She always strives to set a shining example for her friends and be strong for them. Although Soorin is a vivacious, lively young woman, she's naive in the ways of life, especially when it comes to people. Innocent and trusting, Soorin is inclined to believe anything anyone tells her and give people the benefit of the doubt, even if they obviously don't deserve it. For all of her kindness and positivity, she also has a tendency to be oblivious to the things happening around her, too; she tries her best to be sympathetic, but fails to read body language and see the underlying tones what other people say. As a result, she can also be unintentionally yet very socially awkward, if not eccentric. Having grown up sheltered, Soorin struggles to 'fit in' and feels alienated from her peers sometimes, but she keeps her chin up and takes each day in stride. | Their interactions were initially somewhat awkward because Soorin wasn't used to talking to someone like Minhak, but she quickly warmed up to him. Minhak puts up a front of friendship and understanding, but is really just pretending. He has his ulterior motives for hanging out with her and considers that his top priority, but at the same time can't help but be fascinated that she's also into music despite choosing to go into a different creative field. Soorin treats Minhak like a friend, while Minhak thinks that her blind optimism is sort of a nuisance. However, what annoys him even more is the fact that she doesn't seem at all romantically interested in him. | One evening, Soorin was playing guitar and singing on the side of the street for extra money as usual. Minhak had been hanging out with his old friend, Joon, and was on his way back to his dorm when she caught his eye. He stuck around to watch her and, after seeing how pure and genuine she was when thanking people who threw money into her guitar case, immediately took interest in her; she seemed naive enough, not to mention that she was cute. Minhak tossed some money into her case and stuck around to chat with her in order to get to know her better when she took a break, and in no time at all, Soorin felt that she had found a friend. She gave him her number, thinking that she had befriended someone sweet and kind, before Minhak continued along his way.

Back-Up Lover: Bae Suzy | 19 | Idol | Despite her young age and popularity, Suzy is surprisingly humble and sincere. Stardom hasn't corrupted her innocence in the slightest. Quick with a smile and courteous, it's easy for her to win people over. She radiates genuine kindness and generosity like the warm, gentle rays of a sun. Suzy is mature and maintains a great work ethic in hopes of inspiring her fans and the people that look up to her. On the flipside, she tends to hide her negative emotions behind her smiling face because she doesn't want to burden anyone with them, let alone dishearten the people she cares about. She feels the need to be strong for everyone else and oftentimes forgets to be strong for herself. Suzy is also the kind of person that stresses out easily and worries about every little detail. At the end of the day, though, she serves as a beacon of hope to her fans and loved ones. | Though Minhak was starstruck when he first officially met her because she's such a big star, he doesn't let that hold him back and flirts with her often, which embarrasses Suzy. She thinks he's just messing with her, though, as opposed to having a certain goal in mind, and thinks he's a funny, kind-hearted guy. Minhak, on the other hand, can only think about how interesting it would be to date an idol. | Minhak and Suzy are roughly the same age and attended the same high school, although they didn't know each other very well in high school. He obviously knew that Suzy existed; after all, she was only part of the girl group Miss A while still attending school. On the other hand, Suzy barely knew of Minhak's existence because they had hardly ever spoken to each other and her focus at the time was on her group. A few years later, Minhak debuted as a part of Polaris and once Suzy caught wind of their debut, she remembered him being in a couple of her classes back in high school. By sheer coincidence, they ran into each other on the busy streets of Seoul and almost instantly recognized each other. Suzy didn't have much time to talk due to having such a loaded schedule, but she was interested in getting to know her former classmate a little better, so they quickly exchanged phone numbers and twitter accounts before parting ways.

What kind of relationship is it?: Soorin and Minhak have a playful sort of relationship, although their relationship is more than what it appears to be. While Soorin thinks they're just friends, Minhak doesn't necessarily care about her; he just wants to hurry into a relationship so that he can break up with her and move on once he gets what he wants without being too direct about it. While she is by no means the first woman to not fall for his charms, she IS the first woman to 'friend zone' him, which irritates Minhak to the point of madness. He subtly tries to win her over while Soorin remains cheerfully oblivious to his advances due to her inexperience. Deep down, Minhak can't decide whether he actually likes her as a friend or not but doesn't want to admit that to himself.

...My Group. How do I fit in?

Position: Main Rapper/Sub-Vocal

Back-Up Position: Main Vocal/Sub-Rapper

    ...My Life as a Trainee.

Years as a Trainee: 3 years, 6 months

How was it?: Throughout all of his years as a trainee, Minhak never took his training very seriously; he spent much of his time goofing around and flirting with the female trainees, which earned him a negative reputation among the other trainees as well as more than a few of the trainers. He even failed to show up to practice sessions on time the vast majority of the time. Every once in awhile, Minhak would fail to show up altogether merely because 'he didn't feel like going'. No one could deny that he had a lot of talent, but at the same time, no one could deny that he was completely full of himself. It didn't help that his favorite targets were incoming female trainees that didn't know any better than to trust him. They were easy prey for 'the Hawk' and he relished the attention they gave him. After all, he knew that YG wouldn't let him go unless he explicitly did something terrible. Minhak was just having his fun. Although Joon ended up transferring to JYP after about a year because he felt that the company suited him more and left Minhak behind in YG, it didn't mean Minhak stopped being friends with him.

How did you get in?: Getting into any entertainment company, let alone YG, is no easy feat. Minhak was scouted along with his partner Joon at a huge talent exposition that their school held. Once they displayed their talents in person before YG's recruiters in a more formal setting, with Minhak submitting a couple recordings of songs that he had written himself while at school, they were accepted in together as trainees. The recruiters were very impressed with Minhak in particular and didn't fail to display their favoritism of him over Joon.

Relationship with other YG Artists: Although Minhak is largely unpopular among many of YG's trainees, he is vaguely familiar with Big Bang's TOP. They're not close on a personal basis (i.e. not enough to be considered friends), but have a sunbae/hubae sort of relationship. Minhak looks up to TOP and TOP believes that Minhak has both talent and potential in spades. Minhak is more friendly with WINNER's Mino because they trained together and shared the same dorm for awhile; when Mino was victorious on YG's program, Minhak was cheering him on the whole time. However, many YG artists that knew him during their trainee years also tend not to like Minhak that much.

The genre of music your character specialized in before he/she came to YG: Hip-hop, R&B, alternative rock, indie rock. As an underground artist, Minhak liked to mix these genres.

    ...It's me. I can't be anyone else.

1) There are so many people out there in the world. Who do you think influenced who you are the most? Who do you look up to the most?

- So many people in my life have inspired me to be the best me I can possibly be. I think my mom is by far the most influential person of my life. She raised my younger brother and me practically by herself, and I mean, it takes a strong woman to be capable of doing that with minimal interference from my dad. My parents had a divorce when I was younger, but I don't want to get into it too much. All that you need to know is that I'm proud to be her son. *bright smile*

2) Do you have any special talents? Do you have any talents that others would find weird?

- Well, I can balance just about anything on my nose. Pencils, chopsticks, erasers... If they're the right size, I can do it. My old friends in school and my younger brother used to think it was a cool talent, but my mom always got mad at me because she thought I was going to somehow hurt myself. Never happened, of course. Also, I can loudly click my tongue against the roof of my mouth. A lot of people seem impressed with how loud it is, but it kind of hurts to do after awhile... Music wise, I have a few instruments under my belt. Haha. *wink* I'm pretty awesome at freestyle rap, too. I don't know, the lyrics just come to me easily. It's a gift. I could go on and on about my array of talents all day.

3) Do you have an ideal type? If so, who is it? If not, can you describe them?

- Of course I have an ideal type. She has to have eyes, nose, lips, teeth, skin... You know, that sort of thing. Oh, and she should preferably be human. Am I being too specific? Sorry, ladies. *winks, and then laughs*

4) What is the most vivid memory you have about your family or your friends?

- What comes to mind at the moment is when I graduated high school. My mother and little brother attended. She was so proud of me for finishing high school and was crying and hugging me for several minutes afterward. Haha, it was really touching. My mom couldn't believe that I was practically an adult already.

5) If you could have a world tour, which country would you like to visit the most?

- I'd love to visit Hong Kong, actually. It seems like a beautiful city with many places to go and even more places to see. London seems like an interesting city to visit, too.

6) Can you give a short message to all your supporters out there?

- Hey, everyone. I'm Hawk, Polaris' resident rapping prodigy. *wink* Please continue to stand by us and watch us grow. What are we without our fans? I want to thank you very much for supporting us. We'll do our best to soar to greater heights and not let you down. *quick bow*

...Miscellaneous. I don’t really know where to put this.

Comments/ Questions/ Suggestions: Great opening essay. I felt the need to applaud it, so I'm sorry if this sounds kind of awkward, haha. If you don't get enough interested applicants, I might be interested in coming up with a second (female) app... in which case, adding Block B to the masterlist would be cool. Anyway, thanks for reading and please let me know if there's anything I need to fix~ (This turned out to be a lot longer than I intended it to be. Whoops. Hope that's not a significant problem.)

Anything I missed?: I didn't see a password thing anywhere, so here you go. Shame Taeil isn't more popular when he has such a lovely voice.
