In the layout usually the creator would leave their name there, (like layout by: xx, or credit:xx, or made by:xx, etc) when they give you the code, they allow you to tweak some code here and there, but don't remove/delete their name so people knew who originally created that layout.

Or if the creator didn't leave heir name, then you're obliged to write down who made that layout somewhere in your page.
