Re: The Banned Post

I originally posted this in my blog, but since the banning and the reporting involves my post here, I might as well post this for those concerned.

Depressing indeed.

A few days ago, I shared some of my PDF links here on Asianfanfics. Last night, when I updated my post, I noticed that my post is banned. I looked if there is a message from the site admin telling me the reason(s) why I was banned and what my violations are. There is none. The post was just simply banned and I think it is unfair because (1) I deserve a warning, and (2) I did not get to air my side of the issue. I was left clueless in the whole situation.

Thankfully, another user in the said site saw the report made to the admin. If it were not for her, I would not have known.

Other (Jan 23 2014): I am reporting the following content: http://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/649803/8/yunjae-pdf-fics-for-online-reading-only-jaejoong-yunho-yunjae-pdf

This person is using a middlemen website ady.fly to make a profit off other’s stories, which have been deleted by the original authors. The original authors allowed users to have these copies for free and not by all means to make money off them. It may or may not violate any of the rules of the website but it will definitely give other users ideas to reuse this method and make people pay money to read online fanwork that are not their own.”

These are the reasons why I stopped sending fic copies for the meantime:

1. Our desktop at home has a virus that turns every file into a shortcut link which is empty. I cannot risk using my external hard drive into our desktop and lose everything in there. I was able to use my office desktop to send the files before, but now I have stopped working and I do not have any other desktop or laptop to use instead of the virus infested one. Fortunately some of my files are in Google Drive, and I somehow managed to have some of the fics PDF-ed and posted.

2. I am working on a blogsite right now (for a friend) and I want to know how adf.ly works because she wants to incorporate that into her blogsite. How else would I be able to understand it if I am not going to test and use it myself? I need some info and data from the internet traffic and how else would I do that but test it on something I know would get a lot of clicks and views. I AM NOT MAKING MONEY OUT OF OTHER’S WORKS. I AM NOT CLAIMING OTHER’S WORKS AS MINE. I AM NOT STUPID TO DO THAT. It is not like I am asking for your bank account, right? It is not like you actually shell out money to read a fic, right? If you should know, I only make $1.08715 for all the 800+ clicks for 20 days. My gawd, it is not going to make me rich! It cannot even pay for my monthly internet bill.

If I want to make money out of other people’s works, I would have done it before. I would have asked you people to pay me up for each fic you request of me, considering how some people would stooped so low and tried to deceive and blackmail me just to get the copies. If I want to make money out of this, I would have shamelessly tweeted the links all over Twitter and posted them on Facebook, considering readers abound in these platforms. BUT I AM NOT STUPID AND I AM NOT SHADY. I started this blog for my personal purposes and because I want to share with the other fans and readers the same love over a common interest. I am happy doing this, this is my stress-reliever and not even a $5/10000 clicks can pay for that happiness. Duh.

Like I have said, this is not forever. I am just testing out something. If you hate clicking on that stupid ads, then do not. I am not forcing you to do so. This is why I am also asking if you have problems accessing the links and the site; it is part of my testing process. Why would I bother going all through this trouble if it were not for some sensible reason?

There, I am glad I got this off my chest now.

Love and massive huggles to those who email me, telling me they love my blog or simply just saying thank you. Small deeds, guys, but it puffs up my heart. Thank you!
