personality :: 

She's competitive. That's a trait that runs in the Choi family; she likes, no, loves to win. Minhee works hard for everything and doesn't like losing at anything. She's got the drive of a race car, much like both of her brothers. For better or for worse, Choi Minhee is a girl that doesn't give up...which gets really illogical at some points. One of her members once put it this way: if Minhee's dying in the hospital, she'll take out her IV and go practice. She loves Dulcet - and moreover, she loves performing - and wants them to succeed more than anything else. Like I said, Minhee loves to perform. She loves being on stage; instead of giving her stagefright, the stage is the only place Minhee feels like a real person. Offstage, she's incomplete; when she's singing, even though she isn't the group's best by a longshot, you can tell she's putting her heart into it. When she's being interviewd, she's the perfect idol; relatable without alienating herself from others and still being a little too flawless to be her real self. She's very, very good at being an idol, even though she's nowhere near being the most popular member of the group. She's called the Daytime Moon because, even though you don't notice her until you look, it's something you'll not regret.

 

She's a cautious girl, the kind that thinks before she speaks and tries not to offend anyone. She tries her best to be a peacemaker, which is a dangerous role; if her friends are fighting, chances are Minhee's the one that's going to get caught in the crossfire. She's the kind of girl that hates ullying no matter what, and just generally wants piece between her members. It's a bit of a hard thing - there's lots of personalities going every which way and there's the fact that everyone's on the edge about not being a popular idol group - but she will always step in and talk when her members are fighting, especially if the leader can't do so. She looks up to the older members a great deal, and the two main vocalists are who Minhee considers her role models. She's respectful of them too. She's pretty much a normal girl off-camera, who's very polite and doesn't like other people arguing with eachother. She prefers peace to conflict a  billion and a half to one. 

 

But - there's always a but - she's very, very selfish, to the point of putting down others. Unfortunately, there's no limit to how far Minhee would go to see her group succeed. She believes that the ends justify the means to a horrifying degree...though that'll come out more in the story, mind you. She likes winning, of course she does, but she wants to win too much. When she wants to win, you can't stop her, and if she doesn't...well. The frustrated side of Minhee doesn't often come out, but when it does, you better watch out. She's surpsingly strong and will resort to violence. She's like Dulcet's Hulk: although she loves peace, if you piss her off, her ideals about it will be thrown out the window.

 

background :: Born and raised in Incheon, Choi Minhee grew up as the youngest of three. Though her two brothers were very close to each other, Minhee was always just the little sister. Sometimes they'd make her play soccer, but she was usually holed up in her room listening to TVXQ. Her older brother Minho became a trainee in 2006, debuting in SHINee in 2008. That's when Minhee figured: why the hell wouldn't she want to be a trainee? She had no reason not to. She liked singing, she loved TVXQ and wanted to support her brother. She became a trainne in 2008 and stayed with SM until 2012 - she was tired of being passed up for debut time after time. She had already not been chosen for Skylight, their newest girl group. So she switched to a much smaller company, at the cost of her potential future popularity, where she currently is training.
