Style : Sejung is mature and stylish. She doesn't show a lot of skin, and prefers the classy version of y rather than the "let's show off some skin" kind. Rather than having particular pieces she likes, or belonging to a sub-culture, Sejung borrows her style from all sorts of places. She even has some men's fashion in her wardrobe. Sejung isn't particular to pants or skirts, but hardly ever wears shorts or miniskirts unless she has to. She prefers jeans and longer skirts. Though her wardrobe is fairly eccentric, Sejung always finds ways to throw things together for herself. Most things look oversized on her, though, thanks to her height.

Personality : The ringleader - the person in a circus that holds the rest of the acts together, introducing all of them and playing to their strengths. That's Sejung.

By herself, Sejung doesn't stand out very much. She's short, not exactly absolutely gorgeous, and isn't amazing (though she can do well for herself) at singing, dancing or rapping. She's not an ice princess or an aegyo queen, and she's not particularly nice or mean. The reason she exists as a member of Faith is to bring out the best in the other members; she's the one that comments "Oh, this member has been working hard on her vocals" or "we haven't had a break in a while, but Faith is still working hard". On reality shows, she always checks to see if the other members are okay if something has happened to them, and defends her members if there is an MC being rude to them. She's a very caring leader. At first glance, she probably seems younger than she is thanks to her height and relatively high voice, but when you begin to listen to her speak about the members, it's clear she's the eldest member. She sounds like a mother, caring and wise and supportive. That's Sejung's public image - a mother figure that might not stand out on her own, but can help the lights of the other girls shine. Even when she's just acting as Sejung, and not an idol, Sejung is always there to listen to Faith's problems (or HELLO ALONE, her old indie band's problems), and makes absolute sure they're doing alright before they have to make public appearances. She could keep a secret for 20 years without anybody knowing about it.

Sejung doesn't stand out. As an idol, she's average at best, and when Sejung isn't in her element, she's just there. Sejung's musical roots don't lie in K-pop, and before FATE found her, she didn't even listen to it unless she had to. Sejung didn't pay attention to the idol world very much at all, so now that she's being ed into it, she's having some troubled adjusting. Add that to the fact that Sejung is a perfectionist, and you have a bundle of unhappiness. She practices until she can hardly move, studies tabloids and netizen gossip to see what people think of her, and tries not to react too much to the haters. Sejung has a few beserk buttons, too: her shortness, her averageness, or her singleness. Sejung is a hopeless romantic. Though she's never had a boyfriend, she loves love, and that comes back to bite her very often. She falls in love very easily and falls in love very hard, but she's smart enough to know that her relationships would never work out. Sejung never actively pursues her love interests because of that; although she's a hopeless romantic, she doesn't have the confidence in herself to get out there and find her true love. Sejung sticks to setting up other people with other people instead, ignoring herself. Her selflessness is her biggest fault.

✦ Who Made Who You Are Today?

Background : The younger twin by five minutes, Sejung grew up as her brother's best friend, and he as hers. The two were always passionate about music, to the annoyance of their teacher and doctor parents, and they practiced in secret - coining the name HELLO ALONE at age 13, for the secret jam sessions where Youngdo would sing and Sejung would accompany him on their school's piano. Eventually, their parents found out about HELLO ALONE - though it took them four years to do so - and demanded HA to split up. Rather than doing that, Sejung and Youngdo cut ties with their parents before entering college. If music was their passion, their parents should have supported it. Youngdo and Sejung decided to hold auditions for HELLO ALONE. That's when Sejung had her first encounter with the strings of fate. Her name was Park Jangmi, a bassist; she introduced herself and played. As Sejung looked over to Youngdo for his reaction, she found he was enraptured...and that a red thread that connected Jangmi and Youngdo. After they secured the rest of the members, Sejung asked Youngdo to take Jangmi on a date. They're now engaged. After HELLO ALONE's 3rd year as a group of five, Sejung left due to the fact that she was scouted for FATE.

Their Story :

Lee Sejung met Cha Hakyeon at a HELLO ALONE concert in Hongdae in late 2010 - one of their first as a five member group. Back then, Hakyeon wasn't an idol, Sejung wasn't a trainee, and they would have nov reason to interact with each other. HA played one of their usual sets - "Nine in the Afternoon", "I Want to Hold Your Hand", "The Real World". Then, for the first time, they did something different. Sejung was one of the weaker vocalists of HA, but thanks to her skills at piano, she had one solo song. "New York State of Mind". If Sejung could see her own thread of fate, she would have seen it then. Cha Hakyeon approached her after the show finished, and the two became friends. Not particularly close, but friends.

In 2012, Hakyeon suddenly broke contact. It ended up being a blessing for both of them, as that was when Sejung was scouted and the year Hakyeon debuted as VIXX's leader, N. Thanks to only meeting that one time, they had only vague ideas of each other's appearances - most of their relationship was texting. And, because of that, when they will eventually meet as Faith's leader Sejung and VIXX's leader N, they probably won't recognize each other. Both of them have changed a lot since they last met/texted.

When it was Hakyeon and Sejung, the two would text about music or just random things, like the weather. It was mostly just texting. They talked on the phone a few times and met up for coffee once in 2011, but thanks to Sejung's lack of romantic belief in herself, the hopeless romantic never took it very far. She was almost not surprised in 2012 when he told her that they couldn't speak to each other any more.

Now that it's Sejung and N, the two have to meet each other. There might be an inkling of recollection, but it's been a while, so who knows? They may well have to start over from scratch, getting to know each other all over again. But if there's one thing Sejung knows about soulmates, it's that they work out in the end. So even if they don't know that's what they are, they'll certainly know eventually.

Origin : Since she was 13, Sejung was the pianist in a group called HELLO ALONE. They played songs throughout Hongdae and released a digital single, "With the Wind", in 2011. They played at bars and cafes, or they would just busk on the street. They gained a small following within Korea and an even smaller following internationally, but as long as they were playing music together, they were happy. In 2012, a man called Connor Im was at a cafe working on a business deal where HA was playing. It was also the day that Youngdo announced that he and Jangmi were going to get married, and Youngdo specifically thanked Sejung for introducing him to his soulmate. Connor heard this, and fascinated, gave Sejung a business card. At Jangmi's suggestion, Sejung auditioned for FATE. After getting in, the CEOs explained the red threads to her. After learning there were others like her, Sejung immediately wanted to debut. She had a goal: to find others like her, and make the members of HA proud.
