PERSONALITY // Jiaying is pretty charming in many types of ways. With her intelligence, she doesn't worry too much about her future plans and a lot of times on her hands. Do you think she would laze around? No way! She is productive and would always find something to do, if it was either gaming to her hearts content or study until dawn. BACKGROUND // Before she went under Pledis Entertainment, she had a heck of a life. As a YouTuber, she managed to form a channel directed towards her passion, gaming. This all happened at the age of seven years old, when both Minecraft and YouTube was made and when she moved to Myeongdong, Seoul South Korea. She played games like Minecraft under her channel, MadHatter. At first, she used her PC for games. To afford her games and their respective consoles, she had a part time jobs like walking dogs, working at the local cafe near her house and also helping her parents around the house. With the money, she went on the net to have games and consoles shipped to her. This all happened at the age of ten years old, when at this age she learned English. At that point of time, she had a few hundred subscribers. Randomly, she found rapping and she found it charming at first and decided to do a simple freestyle rap. That's when it clicked. She can rap like hell. With this amazing talent, she made game parodies of English songs and made it a segment on her channel. With fans, she calls them Cheshires. On a a random note, during her times as rapper, she developed a addiction to hats.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO PLEDIS? // She was found out by one of the pledis agents on YouTube. It was one of her parodies and she had the rap in the bag. The agent contacted her and suggested to audition into Pledis Entertainment.
HOW LONG DID YOU TRAIN FOR? // She trained for 4 years
TRAINEE LIFE // Jiaying's trainee life was hectic. She had to balance her youtube channel and training. Normally, in her free time she would record but since she became a trainee, she trained hard for 4 whole years. She had help from fellow trainee friends (like her best friend, Haebi) when she was stressed out from a song or dance. Rapping used to be an escape from her gaming life but now it seems like a pain. At times, she would just rage quit and left the practice room to go home to sleep. Her 'school mates' heard she was casted in Pledis and tried to encourage her to keep going; that getting accepted is HARD. She smiled at the thoughts as she practiced. Her dance trainer is especially harsh on her, due to her not dancing that good. She dislikes dancing with a burning passion but still manages to dance OK. Good girl, Jiaying. Her parents also supports their daughter's choices (Dad was disappointed at her no being a video game designer like him but he understands).
