I started working on this around the middle of October. I was inspired by Frozen and the fact that Sehun dyed his hair the prettiest shade of silver and he just looked so perfect and *gushes* Anyways, here's my idea dump for a Snow Prince!AU (that I probably won't finish even though it has a lot of potential.) By the way, it may seem as if I'm talking to myself in my notes but actually most of these ideas were texts that my friend, Arie, and I sent back and forth. I told her about this plot bunny and she told me to keep writing down whatever idea I had, which was a lot since I started this on a road trip to LA. 

Working Title: The Snow Prince (don't worry, this will change when the time comes)

Pairing: Hunhan

Summary: Sehun's a Prince of a small country and the heir to the throne and Luhan is his best friend and prince of the neighboring country. Sehun's hair is originally a dark brown/black color but he find his hair slowly turning into a shade of silver but he has no idea why. He finds out the reason when he touches something one day and it turns to ice. Since then he's been wearing gloves to keep his powers a secret, ashamed that his future subjects would reject him as ruler if they were to find out. Sehun spends years trying to learn how to control it but when something tragic happens, he loses control of his emotions and his powers are revealed- the kingdom has turned into ice. He shuns himself into his palace and rules in isolation while people are trying to survive through this cold storm and basically it's up to Luhan to save the day and basically warm Prince Sehun's heart.

CHARACTERS

Prince Sehun: He is the sole prince and heir to the throne of his small country that has a secret that could be considered as both a blessing and a curse. As a young boy, he discovered that he possessed the power to control ice and snow. He was born with natural black hair and dark brown eyes but as he ages and his powers grow stronger with each passing day, his dark hair fades into a shiny silver and his eyes occassionally turn an icy blue when he loses control of his emotions and his powers are activated. (His hair would probably be styled in this way during his isolation, just to give you guys an image. 1 2.) Growing up, he was given a pair of gloves to wear on his hands at all times to act as a guard against his powers. He is rather introverted, guarded, and secretive due to his past. As a child, he was given the advice to "conceal, don't feel" and he lived by those words in fear that he would eventually hurt someone with the magic he held. He was taught to be prim and proper, just as a prince should be, which turned him to be quite an serious child. Behind that facade was a small boy who only yearned to be loved. His fear of injuring someone with his powers was his greatest enemy- it caused him to feel lonely and back away from anyone who would come near him. He was insecure and emotionally unstable but he barely showed that side of himself.

The only people that knew the real Sehun were his parents, his personal staff of ten people and his dear friend, Luhan. Around them, Sehun was a bit more open. Sehun was a child with a huge heart and he cared deeply for everyone in his kingdom, however, Luhan held a special place in his heart. Sehun loved to use his magic to create a winter wonderland to play in because he enjoyed seeing the bright smile on Luhan's face whenever he did so. (Age: 18-19??)

Prince Luhan: He is Sehun's dearest friend and the prince of the neighboring country. Like Sehun, he is the sole heir to the throne. As a child, he was the more childish one of the princes even though he was two years older than Sehun. He was the one who always asked Sehun to use his powers to create snow for them to play in. Growing up, Luhan was free-spirited and very carefree. He was one who lived for the moment. As he grew older and his father became ill, he changed knowing that his time of play was over. Though he hides his affectionate side, that side of him still exists- it's just hidden (he cares for Sehun as much as Sehun cares for him.) Now, he is the calm, collected and very responsible prince that his people look up to. He is cautious and puts his kingdom and people first before he considers himself while making decisions. He is a determined fellow who works hard in order to get what he wants. He is known for his problem solving skills and he barely panics when he can't figure out a solution. If he ever breaks down, it would have to be something that would take a huge toll on his emotions. 

Minseok: He is a member of Prince Luhan's Royal Guard as well as Luhan's loyal companion who will not hesistate to risk his life in order to keep his prince safe and sound. In order to protect Luhan, he was taught to not trust others easily. He can by snarky at times and sometimes he's a bit brash. 

Junmyeon: Sehun can call upon wind/ice spirits as an elemental force and Junmyeon is one of the spirits- he’s the spirit that Sehun has found comfort in during his time of isolation. And maybe Junmyeon is the one to finds Luhan to tell him what happened to the neighboring kingdom because he’s worried about Sehun. Junmyeon aids Luhan and Minseok on their journey because the blizzards are getting worse and Sehun is growing colder by the day. Soon, his heart will truly turn to ice and he will freeze from the inside out. There are other wind spirits but Junmyeon was the first to reveal himself to Sehun. The Snow Prince finds the most comfort in him, that’s why Junmyeon doesn’t want the Sehun to die. Junmyeon has a deep fascination with humans because before this occurance, he's never interacted with a human before. The spirit is terribly socially awkward- he asks personal questions bluntly without understanding how strange they are, or he doesn't understand personal space, or he forgets sometimes that when he touches humans, it like a freezing cold wind against their skin. He is an "in your face" type of character with a hint of innocense and a huge load of curiousity. He also seems to have a dry sense of humor.

Taeyeon: Taeyeon, the frost fairy (like Periwinkle from Secret of the Wings), watches over Sehun after he becomes known as the Snow Prince, tending to his every need and showering him with motherly love to keep him from completely freezing his own heart. She knows her efforts are useless when one day Sehun lashes out on her and hurts her during his time of rage. Even though he feels guilty after, she knows she has to act on finding Luhan. Taeyeon can share the role of Sehun’s caretaker with wind/ice spirit Junmyeon. Maybe that could be the time after Sehun explodes is when Taeyeon sends Junmyeon off to find Luhan.

Jongdae: Jongdae is the wind/ice spirit who is the guardian of the passageway/bridge leading to Sehun's Ice Palace. He is playful and snarky. (I might change him to be a troll who knows a lot about the prophecy that pertains to Sehun's powers...I don't know. The trolls could be the ones who gift Sehun with the gloves that have some concealing power. Don't mind me, this is a work in progress. My ideas are everywhere.) 

Zitao and Wufan are the possible antagonists who want to keep Sehun's kingdom frozen, for reasons that I am still trying to figure out OTL. Tao would be the one to consistently torment Sehun with thoughts of Luhan and saying things like "He never loved you. You're just a boy. Barely even a prince. You're beneath him. Why would he degrade himself when he's got the most coveted princess waiting for him in his bed chambers?" Tao would be the smooth talker and almost personal prison guard for Sehun.

- What if Sehun tries to conjure up a person out of snow during the early stages of isolation, someone who looks like Luhan, because he's sick and tired of being alone? But the moment Sehun sees his creation, he's reminded of how Luhan left him for someone else and that there's no use pretending that Luhan chose him. He uses his powers to blast the fake Luhan into pieces and just breaks down. And that could be when Junmyeon reveals himself. // I can see Sehun trying to touch Luhan's face and then letting out a sob, blasting it so it cracks into pieces against the wall, and then holding himself together because he feels just as broken. As time goes on and his powers start going more haywire, his tears would roll down his face, freeze, and shatter on the floor.

- What if there was a blocked passageway into the Sehun's kingdom that was created by Sehun? A playful and snarky spirit guards it and Junmyeon warns Luhan and Minseok about the spirit's personality. The spirit, who would be Jongdae, is kind of like the Sphinx from Oedipus Rex. In order to pass, you must solve a riddle.

- On Sehun's hair and eyes changing color:

His eyes should turn icy whenever his powers are activated. When you talk about Sehun, you should compare him to ice and the cold A LOT. Like if I could imagine how they'd look when he uses his powers, I feel like his pupils would shrink, and then the warm browns of his eyes would crystallize into a wintry blue. His hair turning silver can be deemed as "natural" because it'll be turning even before Luhan breaks his heart. He's still a prince, and his subjects would know immediately something was wrong if they saw something as apparent as his eyes turning blue. When Sehun loses control, his eyes stay blue, and Kris and Tao watch his emotions vigilantly by always checking on their color. When Luhan tries to warm his heart again, his eyes melt but then freeze over because he doesn't know who to believe anymore.

- The prophecy the trolls have been reciting for years:

Your future is bleak

Your kingdom will splinter

Your land shall be cursed with unending winter

With blasts of cold will come a dark heart

And a ruler with a frozen heart

Then all will perish in snow and ice

Unless you are freed with a sword sacrifice

- Random Scene #1: Sehun and Luhan's cute little friendship

It's been a year since the two princes saw each other. Sehun smiled to himself as he threaded his fingers through his now silver hair, thinking Luhan would reward him with a hug.

"Your hair is parted in the middle," Luhan states. "I don't think it suits you, Sehun-ah."

Oh. Guess not.

"...this is how you greet me after a year."

Luhan reaches up and ruffles Sehun hair until his bangs cover his forehead. "There," the older prince smiles. "Much better."

- Random Scene #2

 "Are you saying that there's a way to stop this blizzard?!" Minseok shouts over the strong winds that blew past him, hands tightening around the sleeves of his coat.

Luhan looks at his companion, ignoring the cold seeping through his thick bundle of clothing. "That's no blizzard- that's my Sehun."
