Trainee life ¦

She was one of the most popular trainee I must add. Victoria and D.O, both are friends and mentors of her that always give advices to her. When she auditioned and got accepted by SM, her family and best friend supported her. She had taken hiatus from her acting activities during trainee years. She stopped acting for those time being. During trainee years she received further training in dancing, singing, rapping and the Korean language. She couldn't converse with all the new people she met well, due to not being able to speak the language as fluently, and she didn't know what to eat, the dorminotary food is more like a goat's food. There was not much foreign trainees there and foreigners usually got bullied including her, but nothing really major happened except for the numerous haters she gained during training. She's pretty but her personality is sometimes unlikable. Since she's  a bit of strong character, many trainees thought of her as y.  Trainee years was also hard for her because she got to live her life everyday with the same boring shcedule with sweat and blood.

She was not good in dancing and singing as she thought, especially bad in Korean and was given extra classes for that. Just going to be totally honest here her voice isn't very attractive. Neither anyone has a thing for nasally high voices. Her range is limited to easy notes, she can't hit high octaves decently. Her vocalization can sound really awkward sometimes and the breathtaking effect that should be left is disturbed. She wanted to give up several times. She cried everyday for the first two weeks she was in training, but decided to work hard even though she wanted to go back home, to show to her family that she isn't that spoiled, she isn't pretty face with zero talent. The one thing SM that do notice though is her emotion when rapping. Year by year she had improved her rapping skills especially. She even came in 2nd place at the 6th SM Best Rapper Contest.

But while “doll-like” features look cute on dolls and other inanimate objects, they look misproportioned on humans, as best seen on her. Sneakers or flat will not be her choice of shoe unless if she wear few stack of insoles, she prefer to wear heels. She wears tons of metal jewelry, she typically has big designer bag with so many make up and accessories in it when she go out. She loves to wear her hair down, sometimes she'll make it into a bun or in a ponytail. Her favorite hair accessory is various type of jewelry headband. When people first see her; "Teen Ace's Jiliann is so rude." "Where are her manners?" Known for her -face and blunt honesty, she has garnered herself quite the character.

The key to her personality is that she is a free spirited. Conformation is her curse. Rules and regulations are made for other people. Restrictions will blow out the creative spark that is ready to flame into life. She must be free and uninhibited. She is a beautiful girl, colorful and flamboyant. An extroverted bundle of energy, gifted and utterly irrepressible, everything she does is on a grand scale, big ideas, ornate gestures, extreme ambitions. Dear My Family

Background ¦

She was born on April 11, 1994 in California, United States. She is the only child in her family. Her family moved a lot, this is because of her father's job, a former soldier in the U.S. Armed Forces in Korea. But whenever people ask where did she grown up, she will say Japan is her hometown, since she was raised there the longest. She is a half Korean, through her mother's side and through her father, she is of Puerto Rican- Korean descent. That's explain why her look is more to Korean. She is really close with both of her parent. Growing up, sometimes she do feel like a freak, because she is a mixed unlike almost all the other kids around her  but her parent taught her to ignore others' look and focus on herself. The family moved to Japan when she was six months old, then moving back to Korea when she was 6 years old.

She got scouted by an acting agency, Omnibus at a young age. Originally, she debuted in the media industry at the age of 8 as an English tutor on children TV shows, in channels Arirang TV and KBS. She stopped her carreer in Korea for prior to her moving to Japan. That was after 3 years in Korea, and all of that time her family stayed in army units. She often went to the Kyoto Music Centre with her school friends after school. It is a place where teenage bands and even dancing groups do performances. It is a small stage for the youngsters who inspired to be idols in Kyoto, a place where they will hang out and perform. She was inspired to be a performer too, a singer. Watching people dancing and singing, she always admiring a good performer and thinks those people are cool. They went back to Seoul after her father retired when she was 15. Shortly after her comeback to Korea, at the age of 16, she was contact by her old acting agency and joined them again. She officially entered the entertainment industry again in 2008 by acting in minor roles in dramas. She then starred in the Omnibus film "Romantic Heaven" as the supporting role but her big break did not come yet. She was in the 2011 Korean TV drama series "High Kick: Revenge of the Short Legged", in which she played Chae Jiyeon. She auditioned for SM latter in 2011 and got accepted. In 2012, she was in SHINee's "Sherlock" as the lead female.

He is the best father that she can wish for, he is one of the most important person in her life, if she have to choose anything in the world to stay forever, it's her father and mother.

How they act--- They don't have any trouble interacting.  Jiliann grew up as close to her mother and she does resembles her loads in term of being an extrovert, but Jungah is likable by others more that Jiliann since Jiliann has that strong aura and free spirited. Personality: Kagu- chan isn’t always pleasant to be around. She’s usually very cold towards strangers but can easily warm up to them. She’s overly honest, and you can usually tell when she isn’t. Kagu- chan is also very organized and enjoys order. Her emotional range goes from: Anger, boredom or neutral. Specific people can bring out sadness and happiness, but these are rare.

How you act together: They spends most of their chilhood and teenhood together at the same kindergarden even until middle school. They literally does everything together, make that for fun or work. Except for her family, Jiliann is the specific person who can bring out sadness and happiness to Kagu- chan. Jiliann is the closest friend she had as a child. Theres not that much about ”Evil Kai” side because he only uses that personality for enimies or either self defense. He tends to hide his weaknesses. Not good  communicating with people because he is lack of words to express his thought and feeling to them. He doesn’t have much experince of making friends because he rarely seem to have any but once he make one, it will last. Is also simply too gullible to fall for anything. Kai may look just a child but don’t suspect that he’s weak. He is quite of a fast thinker when it comes to getting out from an unpleasant situation. First meeting ¦ They met by three fateful meeting. Firstly, they met at a shopping complex, a music equipment shop to be more exactly, in 2010. Jiliann was looking for a guitar as a gift for one her friend. Kai and his trainee friends was there too, he was accompanying his friend to buy a bass. He was walking when he saw a girl at the guitar department through the glass wall, he ws mesmerized by the pretty face so walks in and went to her little by little. Jiliann was trying to take a guitar that was hanging on the wall when she stumbled backward, as the guitar was quite heavy for her. Kai who were close to her quickly held the guitar before it hit the pretty face of her. She was shock but quickly thanking him for his quick reaction, she also thought he is the person who work there so she asked if he knows which guitar will suit her friend the best. But soon a friend of Kai came and pulled him to somewhere. As the scene past so quickly, Jiliann just shrugs it off. Secondly, on the same day  Jiliann was crossing the road, running, because she was late for her practice. She was so into searching the perfect guitar that she forgot about the time. She tripped at the sidewalk when the same guy she met at the shop held her shoulder so that she won't stumbled forward. Yeah, it's him..Kai! This time it's Jiliann who excused herself quickly after thanking him for the second time that day. The last meeting is at the SM building. It was late and Jiliann is in her way back to the dorm when she heard a music. She followed the music and found a guy dancing hotly to it. She was mesmerized by it and she remembered that she had seen the guy two times before. After the music stop and the guy stop dancing to it, Jiliann fake a cough and this caught Kai offguard, literally jumping a little before looking at Jiliann.

Interactions ¦ From the surface, Jiliann isn’t shy of expressing her affection over Kai. As for Kai, he is always ready to help her. Kai also likes to whenever he has the chance, including during onstage/onscreen. Sometimes, she denies the caring gestures, but she really does like them judging by the way she attaches herself to the dancing machine. Kai even does the old school trick of distraction then putting the arm around the other’s shoulder. Very smooth and open minded, it is something that isn't what he usually does, if we consider his personality. They are often seen together on official events, or just about everywhere, much to their satisfaction. --- In the inside, Jiliann cares and adores him like he is her brother. Kai on the other hand obviously cares A LOT about her, more than a brother should about his sister. He’s not like her in the sense that she loves hanging around and being with her brother. He’s more of the “he’s my girl, back off” type. He admires her, to the point where is scares Jiliann off to some extent. It’s somewhat obvious in the way Kai sometimes acts around her when together. Kai will always find, or try to find his way to Jiliann, whereas she is seen hanging out with everyone else but Kai. It’s almost like Kai is secretly saying, “Jiyeon love me, and only me”. Jiliann thought maybe Kai just wants a little bit more of her love and attention. Jiliann obviously cares for Kai, but maybe not as extreme as Kai for Jiliann. And at one point she realized she feel weird without Kai around, caring for her and no one will ever gives her full attention and affection like him, that oppa who didn't shy to start making the first move.

Personality ¦ His actions being aloof and his actions seem always at ease. It seems that anything you throw on him will look good on him. He owns a sensitive personality. CAP even showed tears in not being able to hold back his emotions. With CAP’s honest side of being true to his emotions, you get the slight feel that he is weak. First meeting ¦ They first met at hospital. At that time Jiliann hurt her ankle and CAP hurt his back. They were sent to the same hospital and both need to stay there for the whole night. Jiliann was a trainee while CAP already debuted. Jiliann take a walk at the hospital's garden at the night and she met CAP who was enjoying the garden scene too. Jiliann isn't that familiar to Teen Top thus she actually has no idea that she was  walking toward the group's leader. Jiliann kept on looking at CAP's face, something about his features attracted her, just like someone she know or ever seen. CAP on the other felt the girl's stare and is getting uncomfartable, I swear he already got a hole on his face due to that intense stare. CAP thought Jiliann wanted his autograph and that she is his fan. So he said hello to the girl and said sorry but he has no pen or paper with him right now. But as soon as he talked, Jiliann ask her blurry if he know her or have they met somewhere. Dumbfounded, CAP ended up introducing himself to her.

Interactions ¦ This easygoing nature guy is quickly replaced by a serious possessiveness when it comes to his Jiliann. He also has a rather peculiar affliction of caressing Jiliann’s cheeks and arms. His touchiness with her is a great example of his love for affection. His childish antics that include begging her to shop with him make him appear beyond adorable. His immaturity results in feeling of Jiliann, she doesn't really takes him seriously, however, he has proven to be quite a romantic. This romantic side of his can usually be seen in his natural charms and obsession with romantic Hollywood movies, He once brought her to a yacht trip and did the scene in Titanic with her.

Reason for rivalry ¦ Jiliann is at MBC waiting room during a day where the group will having their MNET live stage, when she saw a purse right beside the door of the room. The purse belong to Dara of 2NE1, for some reason, she is there when there's no in 2NE1 schedule that need her to be there. Jiliann opens the purse so see who's the owner and right on time Dara came into the scene. She sees Jiliann who is standing beside the door opening her purse and she actually think Jiliann is a sasaeng or a thief, because she never really saw her before. Not believing whatever Jiliann said, she firmly want to call the guard. --- First impression is important for Dara. And sometimes there's no reason to love or hate someone. Dara feels uneasy around Jiliann and so does she.

Interaction ¦ For Dara, first impression last. Dara can’t trust Jiliann, she can't think of her as a friend or acquintance under the same field. She keeps a mask of happiness to hide her uneasiness when with Jiliann infront of others, but it just brings her down even more. Jiliann really mind it, since she can't never tolerate with something as she seen as poking her pride off. She begin to hate Dara for everything, even when the girl smile. ---Jiliann and Kai go to the amusement park at night, like in a movie, where no one around but the game was all alive. Let's just say he pays the workers there to do that or it's EXO members who help Kai and the girl he love for a successful date.
---Jiliann faint due to overwork and need to stay in the hospital for a day. Kai visited her while she is sleeping and kisses her forehead while unknowingly mumbles "Saranghae"
---Jiliann got drunk and fall asleep on the couch, Kai decides to help to get her to the dorm. Before he can excuses himself from her room, Jiliann wakes up claiming to be very hot and starts to strip off her clothes. Shock and blushing, Kai hugs her tight to prevent her from move.
---CAP hear a song from a practice but know one there, when he peak around, he see Jiliann, sitting down hugging her knee at the corner, crying. She is frustrated because her singing doesn't turn out well.
---CAP and Jiliann fight and it's serious, they didn't talk for a week
