UPVOTING, COMMENTS and LURKERS
I keep noticing that there are a handful of subscribers and not the same number of upvotes. Which is totally okay. Because we must not be upvote . But I am experimenting. If I write something worthy of an upvote, then people would do so, right?
So I will keep writing my fanfics but would request a certain amount of upvotes before not giving a frack about upvotes after. Sure, I would still ask them to upvote and feed me comments since I LOVE hearing what the readers actually think. I want to know if someone actually gets the cliffhanger or the twist. But after a while it gets really boring to remind people to upvote
My pet peeves are when people call me author-nim and the comment is basically no reaction just a "update now" kinda message. I can really feel the nerve on my forehead get bigger like they do in animes.
All I need is a random asfghjkl comment and what you think is happening or going to happen or hope to happen in the story. I would probably not follow your suggestion, the story sort of has a life of it's own, but the ideas are often very hilarious. It's correspondent to a hug from a friend saying you did a good job.
Since we (authors and readers) would probably NEVER meet offline, upvoting is like giving bitcoins and commenting is like sharing a spazz zone at a coffee shop and everyone is looking at us but we simply DGAF.
So yeah, if you have a writer you love, feed them comments and grant them upvotes whenever their story makes you laugh, cry or think of something other that the current humdrum of your life. If you are entertained, then you should give them a medal for it.
You can be a lurker reader sure, but it feels great for a writer to know that indeed someone reads their .
Personally, as an editor for a writing group I have seen so many writers give up because they think no one is reading their work.
Oh well, if you like Minzy and Taeyang fanfics please give me some love so I can update my fic I started with needing only 10 upvotes for the next update post. I got seven so far. I gotta keep writing before it gets to 10. ^..^
So to all writers, chill. If your work doesn't get feature, WHO G.A.F.?
But to readers, please feed us comments. Some may be bitter or bland but it's the way of things to have different opinions. And stronger writers would emerge from it.
WHY should one upvote or comment.
As per the FAQ, if you have 25 karma points then you can upvote. That gives your writer ONE karma point.
IF YOU WRITE A COMMENT, you get a karma point. (after 24 hours) you can earn a karma point per story. If you want to buy something from shops or lay-outs etc then you need them. In my writing group website we have GILS instead of karma points. And the catch is without GILS you can't read the stories. Because you "buy" the chapters with gils. Harder, right? So yeah...
