Guide: How to make your layouts available for the Layout Marketplace (aka story layouts that work ^^;)

So after making a guide on how to install story layouts from the Layout Marketplace directly into stories, I decided that I must put up another "guide" for layout coders/designers to make their layouts "Marketplace-ready"  - to make their story layouts work ^^;

I am not claiming to be better than coders who put their layouts there. I honestly think that the designs are really nice... and it would even be nicer if we could... umm... use them. Since AFF doesn't support the About Me and Personal Message sections yet, just ask for the code of profile layouts from the designers.

Ughh, okay... this isn't actually a "guide". It's more of a... clarification. Here it goes...

1. Layouts uploaded in the Layout Marketplace are permanent and non-customizable. What we see in the Layout Marketplace preview is what our customers get. The images, gifs, borders, all the elements - cannot be changed. Even the phrase, 'insert text here' or 'title' is permanent and cannot be edited out. Try applying one of your themes in your story, and see if you can edit anything in html view [source]. I like this because it means no one can tamper with the credits, hihi.

So because we cannot actually insert text in 'insert text here', coders should:

2. Use the tags. {CONTENTID} tags are text holders. There is actually a tutorial linked there: How to make a layout. Simply, it says that in the areas where text should be placed, instead of writing it out as 'insert text here' or 'title here' you write {CONTENTID1}, {CONTENTID2}, {CONTENTID3}...  and so on. Otherwise, instead of the actual story, your customers will see your layout as is.

So for example, you want to make a shop layout, instead of putting the header and section titles, let your customer decide what to put in it by using the tags. Same with 'username here'. Because instead of having the actual username in that place, the customer will see 'username here' ^^ if they apply your theme.

Do you now see the importance of the tags? This is the very reason we have that feature. It is for customers to easily apply layouts in their stories, even without having basic html knowledge. Plus, you don't have to provide the codes. Read here on how your customers would apply/install the layouts to give you a better picture on how Layout Marketplace works.

I hope this helps :D
