Personality: Minji (Miki) seems sweet and innocent, but in reality she is a bit of a trouble maker. She loves playing pranks on people and is very good at pretending she has no idea what happened. People mistake her for being oblivious but she is actually very observant. Minji seems like a quiet person when you first meet her, but once you get to know her, she is much more comfortable and will show her true personality. Family background: Minji’s dad was transferred to Japan for business which is where he met her mom. They fell in love and got married and had Minji (Miki).  A year and a half later, they had her brothers. When Minji was 10 years old, her dad was transferred back to Korea and the family moved. Minji was bullied in middle school because of her height and desire to be a dancer. Her brothers tried to defend her, which didn’t work out because people just found it funnier because they are fairly tall. Minji wanted to be an idol since she was little, and wanted to prove to the bullies that she could be great despite them.

She tried to just ignore them and hang around her friends instead. She loves helping people and was happy to help the other trainees who weren’t as good at dancing.

How you became a trainee: Minji’s cousin, Seoyoung, wanted to audition to be an idol, but didn’t want to go alone, so she dragged Minji along. Minji was happy to go, but didn’t really know what to do so she just danced. Minji was accepted as a trainee at SM after the open auditions, but her cousin was not. How you met:

Taemin: Minji bumped into him at a café near the SM building shortly after her acceptance as a trainee. She literally bumped into him and accidentally spilled coffee on him. She had been listening to music and switching the song on her iPod when she walked into him. He was really nice about it, but she felt really bad. When she recognized him, she told him she was a new trainee at SM and that she hoped she would see him again sometime. He agreed and they became friends after exchanging phone numbers. They both are dancers so they like to joke around and freestyle when they hang out.

Key: Minji met Key in the SM building after she had been a trainee for a few months. He was walking in the hall when Minji accidentally tripped him. He dropped the stuff he was carrying and Minji quickly apologized and helped him gather his things. He glared at her and asked why she was even there and she told him she was a trainee. He didn’t believe her and said she was too clumsy to be an idol before walking away. Minji was angry and followed him, yelling at him about judging people too quickly and having manners. He was surprised that she was so bold and decided he wanted to know more about her. He kept meeting her during the next few weeks and insisting on hanging out with her, much to her dismay. She finally started to like his company after his persistence.

Jonghyun: Jonghyun was in the lobby of SM one evening after a long day, and Minji was waiting for one of the other trainees. He saw her and wondered why someone so young was there and if she was a fan who had somehow gotten in the building. He went to investigate and she explained that she was only a couple years younger than him and was the same age as his bandmate, Taemin. Jonghyun said that she was just so short that she seemed too young to be a trainee. Just as he said this, Minho walked by and said, “You’re one to talk, Hyung.” Jonghyun glared and Minji just laughed as her trainee friend finally showed up. Jonghyun liked having a short friend to tease and figured out Minji’s trainee schedule so he could mess with her.
