santa's box • a christmas event ; round 3

Round 3 ; For you, what is Christmas?

For me, Christmas is a one of a kind holiday that families can gather around and enjoy some time.
Christmas is like a traditon, families usually go out to eat, or have a party. Presents are distributed for children.
So overall, Christmas is a holiday where we can just appreciate all that we have with family and a cup of hot cocoa.

In my family, we always gather at either my Grandparent's house or Uncle's house to eat and open presents. We usually
do this on Christmas Eve or just on Christmas since everybody is off of work on Christmas.

One of my best memories and moments of Christmas was when we gathered at our Uncle's house. Since he had a dog,
they had to put him in his room so he couldn't reach the food or disturb the party. I'm a dog person, so I decided to go to
his room in the middle of the party, right? I opened the door and he stood up, looking at me. I walked further into the room
and decided to turn on some k-pop music (I never knew he had kpop music on his laptop, though). After the music started playing,
which was Tara - Roly Poly, he just started 'dancing' , so I decided to just sit and watch him. After awhile, my brother realized
I was missing, so he just came into the room and saw the dog 'dancing'. He was confused but just decided to dance along.

This year, since I'm getting older, and becoming more of an introvert, I would like to stay home, since celebrating with them might
just make a whole mess since I don't talk a lot at all, considering I'm socially awkward. I might visit for awhile, then leave... Though
it's rude, I'll just say that I have tons of homework to do, and it needs to be completed daily, which is true and go back home. I just hate
sitting there and watch everybody laugh after every few phrases or so, and I'm just sitting there, clueless - just because of my zipped mouth.

After Christmas celebrations, we would gather again during Febuary, for Chinese New Years. We countdown and eat again for Chinese New Years.
We pass out red envelopes filled with money of $10-$50. I'm staying for this, since it's really not an option at all. For some reason, I feel like Chinese
New Years is more important than Christmas, not like Christmas is not - but it's because not everybody celebrate Chinese New Years. Even though
not everybody celebrate Christmas, they will either celebrate Ramadan, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc., which is like Christmas. Chinese New Years to me
is like a family gathering where we give our thanks and blessings, a holiday which seems like it isn't important to others, but is actually very important if
you actually celebrate it. Err.. I'm talking too much now.

But overall, to answer the question - Christmas is a miracle that happened to us.
