"KBS’s true face was shown in 2009 with 2NE1’s debut. They had many promotions but did not go on Music Bank because of YG’s policy of only letting them promote on one show per week. KBS was angry and criticized YG’s policy publicly in an article. Then they took revenge when Jiyong released Heartbreaker. Jiyong was doing his promotions on KBS and SBS and MBC, but because of a schedule conflict he could not attend one of the KBS radio shows. KBS made this public and said that Jiyong would be forbidden from guesting on any of KBS’s shows, and took all of YG’s songs off their programs. We could not understand why KBS did this, such cancellations happen all the time but this was the first time any broadcasting station had made a a big deal. YG did not say anything but that was when the bad relationship began.

In 2010 YG still let Youngbae go on Music Bank, so we thought things had mended and there were rumors that YG was going to let GD&TOP and Youngbae go onto KBS’s year-end festival. But later he said no. This decision was partly because of YG’s bad relationship with KBS but also because YG had been informed that 2NE1 would not win the Most Popular Song award at the show, and so he put out an article saying that KBS should not have added this award and that the standards KBS used were not fair. VIP were angry at YG this time, it was unfair to use BIGBANG as a chess piece to get what he wanted for 2NE1. KBS put out an article blaming YG for being unreasonable and implying that he was not attending because neither Youngbae nor 2NE1 were receiving an award. KBS later banned all of GD&TOP’s album from broadcast.

In 2011 when BIGBANG had the Tonight album, KBS refused to let them have a comeback stage on Music Bank. This was because they would not give them time to sing more than one song, when other groups who were junior groups were allowed to sing three not just for their comeback stages but during their promotions. KBS said that this was because of previous scheduling but this was a ridiculous excuse, because there were junior groups that had comebacks after BIGBANG who got three stages on the show. YG decided not to let BIGBANG go on Music Bank at all, and we agreed. We decided to boycott KBS altogether.

Then in 2012 things got much worse with the KBS Entertainment Relay program that talked about BIGBANG’s comeback. They held an “interview” on the street to see if people thought BIGBANG was coming back too early after their scandals, and they completely ignored all of the people who said no, which was the majority of people, and chose to give the camera to old people who did not know who BIGBANG was and did not have an answer, so the KBS “journalists” just told them to say yes it was too early for a comeback. On the same program, KBS did an “interview” with the parents of the victim from Daesung’s traffic accident and they were very distraught and confused, and KBS took advantage of their grief to say lies about how Daesung did not come to the funeral and did not pay, and other things. All of these accusations were revealed to be lies by other members of the victim’s family. We were so disgusted with KBS that we held a protest outside their company, it was one of the angriest I have ever been in my whole life, just thinking about it now is still so horrible.

In 2012 with Jiyong’s comeback, KBS started doing all kinds of despicable things again. Two of his songs were censored so they could never be played on any of KBS’s radio stations, shows, or programs. Jiyong decided to go on KBS’s Sketchbook program because he is friends with the host Yoo Hee Yeol, a musical legend in Korea. But a day before his appearance KBS told him that they would not allow him to perform the songs he had prepared, That XX and Light it Up, so he had to relearn the choreography for Heartbreaker that night before the recording and did not get any rest for two days. At the end of 2012 of course YG refused to let BIGBANG go onto KBS’s year-end show.

KBS has a reporter, Kim Yong Ho, who is an anti-fan of BIGBANG and YG, and wrote articles with titles like “After a murder, why is BIGBANG coming back so soon?” and “BIGBANG, the group that is followed by crimes, how will they fare in today’s music industry?” and they are filled with pure hate towards BIGBANG. Even people who are not VIP say that this man who pretends to be a journalist is an anti-fan and has no shame. We have sent many complaints about him but KBS refuses to do anything. KBS is also known for manipulating the charts on Music Bank so that YG artists will not win trophies, and they have deliberately cancelled Music Bank several times in 2011 and 2012 when BIGBANG made comebacks and there was no way to manipulate them down from 1st place. The excuses given were “to celebrate their 600th episode” which is clearly thinking that viewers are stupid. This is why junior groups and groups that have no popularity in Korea win the Music Bank trophies, everybody knows those trophies are worth nothing now.

This year, YG artists have been going on KBS shows again and 2NE1 even went on Music Bank, so things seem to have gotten better. But for us VIP, there is no way we can forget all of the things that KBS has done to BIGBANG over these years. We will always have an undying hatred for KBS."

So, I just read this on a Facebook group I'm part of and I'm honestly disgusted with KBS. I actually knew about the dispute between the station and the company for a long time already but not really knowing about the exact details. All I knew was that KBS and YG had a conflict with each other and it was KBS' fault. But after reading this, I am honestly disgusted. Now I understand why there were no YG Artists on any KBS shows for years. But then again, Yoo In Na, who is an actress under YG entertainment, has a radio show called "Volume Up" and it's on the KBS Station. 

I don't really know what's true or not but I will always side with YG Family unless they are proven to be bad. And in my eyes, they aren't. Look at it this way, the KPOP industry is like High School. You've got the popular kids (SMTOWN Artists), the artistic, hipster kids (JYPNation) and you've got the Misfits (YGFamily). The misunderstood kids. The kids who everyone looks down upon since they're not cutesy or pretty, and because they don't really care about what other people think. 

And I am proud to say that I am part of that MISFITS Family. What good is looking pretty if you're ugly in the inside? I'm not bashing any artist here, I'm just stating my love for YG Family. I like some other groups too like EXO, f(x), SHINee, and TVXQ and more but I will always always be a YG Baby from the heart.
