Epilepsy Part Two

It's true that there is no cure for epilepsy.

My mom is a doctor too and she told me epilepsy can't be cured it can only be controlled.

So I thought, she's right.

More than in a medical view I began to realize the real meaning of the word epilepsy.

It can't be cured. It can only be controlled.

So instead of letting my condition control my life I control it.

Life may be a bit boring without television (I'm only allowed to watch tv at most two hours a day which is hard since I'm a big movie and drama addict), or not being able to go to the movies with friends, (the last time I entered the movie house was a few weeks before I had my first attack... miss it so much), not being able to out at night late because of the lights and the flickering effect)...

but after years of being epileptic...

it's not so bad.

I used to think why me?

Why of all the 98% of the population I was part of the 2% that have epilepsy?

Because nothing is given to you that you cannot handle.

Epilepsy did not make me weaker...

Rather it made me a stronger person...

I am who I am now because of what I've experienced.

E- doesn't mean enough for me.

E-means epilepsy.

Epilepsy means...

Be strong.

With a brave heart and determination... anything is possible... I wrote this blog just to remind myself everytime that I feel like I'm the most unfortunate person in the world I'm well off because of friends and family that support me no matter who I am and who I will become.

I became a better person because of "epilepsy" and people who are sick no matter what sickness they have (yup... love sickness is included...lol) are stronger than anyone else out there...:)

i have quite the same problem as well.. i am a narcoleptic person.. i have narcolepsy since i was 13.. it cannot be cured but can be control.. out of 10000 million people, only 1% that have narcolepsy.. but i take medcine seriously and take care of my sleeping hours.. after years of being a narcoleptic, i now manage to control it.. it's been years i haven't dozed off while walking (kind like fainting, but i'm actually sleeping). and i can control it in class too.. no more serious problems arose ;)
