Would it be okay for me to punch my boss in the nose?

I can't stand her!

The week the departing teacher left, she didn't speak a word to me.  She berated me in front of EVERYONE, staff and students included, about not doing counseling right, she observed my lesson and said the only thing I did right was the pronunciation, she keeps telling me to do lobby talk and smile more, but all she does is stand behind the counter and she's supposed to be my example.

Also she's worked with me almsot a month now, she should know I'm a Bigbang fan (which is pretty obvious from my Bigbang bag that I ALWAYS carry covered in Bigbang buttons).  But tonight, she said, "oh do you like Bigbang?  My friend drank with them the other night."

Excuse me?  EXCUSE. ME?

Then she ruined my night at the bar by coming along.  All I wanted after a horrible 9 hour day was a couple glasses of whiskey.  Couldn't even enjoy that.  Which is another thing, in America I never drank.  In Japan, I've been drinking beer and I love whiskey and wine.  This job is turning me into an alcoholic!

I'm just...so frustrated at being observed and being told I'm doing everything wrong and it's probably not her fault but the way she talks to me makes me feel so ing stupid.  The other foreign teachers keep saying it will get better, but geez...why can't they give feeback in a POSITIVE way?  Can someone please tell me what the point is of making me feel like an idiot?

And that Bigbang comment...I KNOW she said that just to make me mad.  Just...AAAAARGH.

Should have bought that bottle of whiskey at 7-Eleven...I'd probably feel a whole lot better right now.

AHHAHAHAAHAHAHHA my little alchie ^__^

i'm sorry about your stupid bosslady :c

hang in there!

one of my besties taught english in korea and one of her biggest mentions is the fact that the style and method of the korean culture was so frustrating and tiring. i guess it's somewhat the same in japan.

get through your work weeks, spend more time with the foreign teachers and look to them for advice and feedback.

and the enjoy your time outside of work...have adventures and don't think of the stress!!!

Don't get so frustrated. Try to answer back by saying things that would make her shut up. Things that you know that will make her get frustrated and won't make her able to answer back.
