University

AAAARGH!

I think I'm gonna have a heartattack :'(

So, some of you guys know, I'm a Year 13 Sixth Former (Highschool Senior)...

And this is the time of the year when we'll be sending out our Personal Statements for University because

Because I actually need a ing job in the future to live and

And, I probably never told any of you how I want to be an architect

But I'm thinking... 'do I really want to be an architect? Apparently the pay isn't even that good..'(yes, admit it, it's all about the money)

And it's a very demanding job, and , I'm not good with stress - If I get stressed I go on AFF to write and get away from reality...

Hahaha, imagine that:

Client: So, did you finish that project design?

Me: ... No, but I wrote you a story...?

I went to talk to me Design & Tech teacher earlier and he started asking me interview questions... And that's when I realized...

I know nothing about what I wanted to do!

I don't have a favourite architect!

I don't know a famous British building!

I don't know what a 'lint' is!

I know Lee Min Ho played an architect for one of his dramas and he looked fiiinee (that's not why I wanna do architecture, obvs)

Someone... anyone! Is anyone on the same boat as I am? Please don't tell me I'm going through this alone (TT_TT)TZ

We all go to that process. Just stay calm and try to relax your mind. Don't think too much. The pressure will surely get on your nerves but you have to believe in yourself and if you really have passion to be an architect follow your heart. Believe me we totally don't have much knowledge on anything that is the reason why we study. Hopefully one of these days you'll get to the point on what you really want to take. Just don't doubt yourself^^.

Believe me ,everybody doesn't know anything about architect. So that's why we go to the university to have this knowledge.
My advise ....Follow your sense be strong and except your destiny with a smile ....:)
Be proud that you have an idea about what you want to be , because in my situation , every time i see someone i end to tell my father that i want to be like him :(

The thing happened to me is probably the most ridiculous one. I achieved a really high score in uni exam despite being lazy and not studying at all. I wanted to become an Interpreter(English) but then I changed my mind and applied for Korean Language and Literature which is not really hard to get applied with my score. And then my lovely father refused to send me to university because of the mahjor I've chosen. He said "your score goes to waste"...And now here I am in depression.I don't leave my room,I don't talk to my dad, I cry over everything, the uni exam is only 4 months away and I didn't even start studying because I don't want to. I feel depressed when I see the that I've already studied a year before. I spent the worst birthday and it was my 18th. This is not about the question you asked but I had to let it out somewhere. And good luck to you I hope you won't face anything like this :)

Tbh, I think this happens to a lot of people. There's the people who've known what they wanted to do since way before they really need to, and the people who still don't know.

All you need to ask yourself is... Do you actually want to be an architect? Is there a reason why you wanted to all this time? And if not, what would you be?

My bro is in the same year as you and he's doing biology... But I think he's more into his xbox, so... I think not all people are necessarily doing what they really want, and maybe just an ideal that they've subconsciously created for themselves.

Maybe you don't want to be an architect, so what do you really want to be? You should think about that, maybe take a gap year? Apprenticeships?

Oh god. Don't even get me started. I dropped out of Nursing school because I didn't want to be a nurse. Then I stopped Engineering school as well. And now I'm stuck with Pre-med. You have no idea how confused I am.
