personality: ryeonah's ability to quickly adaPt to her surroundings is one of her strong points. She always goes with the flow. She's pretty much easygoing if you talk to her fIrst. She doesn't Approach others often, but she still do it sometimes if you look kind enough. Her imaginative self is the reason why sometimes she tends to space out and be inside her own world. All of her songs were written by herself. Credits to her creative mind. When she's inspIred, she'll lock herself inside her own world and nothing else matters except for her pen, notebook, guitar and headphones.
Ryeonah isn't really a team Player. Sure, she needs them most of the times but she prefers working aloNe. It was thg reason why she turned Down an offer to debut into a girl group. She thinks that she's capable enough to take care of herself and doesn't want to be a burden to others. Once she sets a goal, Her Will is strong to reach it. Onscreen, she'd rather show her independent side. But fails everytime because she once Tripped over a wire or her hair got stuck into some thing. background: as the only child, ryeonah was determined to be a star since she was young. Her interest in music Was influEnced by her father, who's a music producer. From random scribbles in her notebook To a full song Alongside the melodies, her habit to write songs started when She was bored during class. Therefore she decided to write music and lyrics.
At the age of 17, She got into jyp Because Of her father's connections. Yes, he works there. But No one knows this except for herself. Her father and the People who works there. Because if other trainees knew, she'll become a dead meat. But ryeonah practiced extra hard to prove that she deserves to be there. When she turned 20, a yg staff asked her to go into a private audition. She got accepted and it was up to her choice whether she wants to move to yg or staY in jyp. 3 years being in jyp was enough for her, she wants to experience new things so she moved to yg. After another 2 years of training, she gained some close friends and finally, her debut date was nearing.
Around sPring 2013, ryeonah debuted under the stage name of althea. It means healing in greek language, in hoping to heal people through her songs. Her debut single was stealer and she gained some strong fanbase thanks to that song. It wasn't a suPer successful debut, but she was thankful that she was finally able to debut. It was until she appeared in who is next : win, that she started to appear on the news. Apparently, her close relationship with the boys from team a (now more known as winner) was the reason why rumors spread. Whether it's about her dating one of them or one of the boys was rumored to be her ex, she dEfinitely wasn't tHrilled to see everyone talking about her in a bAd way. Even if the rumors had been cleared up, there weRe still some suspicion. Truth is, she is indeed close to the winner boys. They trained together for the past 2 years. OcCasionally brushing past each other at the yg training centre.
Recently, she released another single titled disturbance. It Is a more easy listening song than stealer, perfect to accompany this cold winter season. It gained her more popularity, especially because of the model of the music video, winner's jinwoo. Which just adds more fuel to the previous rumor but yg once again clarIfies that they're just close friends. Phew, ryeonah had never thought that her life as a star would be this hard. For the happy news, she was nominated as the best New female artist at this year's mnet asian music awards but sadly she didn't won. Whatever, at least she got nominated.
