Background : Ri Yeon was born in Seoul four days before Christmas,Her mother is a owner of a cafe while her dad is a busy bussiness man.She has two Brothers Myungsoo & MoonSoo,Being the maknae in the family she is always being protected by and can be controlled too but soon she told them how she feels about them treating her like that and came to adjust on how she wanted them to treat her but still is worried about her at times.She then learned on how to be independant without her family worrying over her a lot of times;Ri Yeon was sometimes bullied in school for no reason but the bullying stopped because of her two brothers Myungsoo and Moonsoo.

when she was 10 years old,she started gaining interest in music,and wanted to try dancing and soon her parents sent her to learn ballet for a year but she gained interest in Hiphop too,She had some vocal lessons and in 7th grade she stopped for a bit in her music but still practiced from time to time,She gained interest in Photography and modelling and became an ulzzang under cherryKoKo when she was 14,her brother also became an ulzzang,they were then known as the ulzzang Siblings.In 2010 right after her brother Myungsoo debuted in INFINITE she gained interest again in music and became a fan of Girls'Generation after she saw their Music Video and soon she wanted to become an idol just like her brother Myungsoo.She Knew Miss A's Suzy,EXO's Kai,APink's Namjoo,f(x)'s Sulli and other kpop artists,in 2011 she wanted to try out for an entertainment in being an idol,her parents were hesitent at first but over the time when they taught about it they let her go and audition,Myungsoo suggested that she audition for Woolim so that he can look after her.she told him that she's alright and would audition for another entertainment but he told her that even if it's just a year..if she still doesn't want to then she can go transfer to another entertainment and he will support her so she did.

She was accepted into Woolim and soon became friends with INFINITE but after a year she told myungsoo that she can be independant and can get through this on her own.so she transfered to Big Hit with the support of her family.
