 personality — A first impression of Hei is that she’s very a very introverted person and tends to stay quiet for the most part. When she does talk, her words can come off as really blunt and feisty because she’s not afraid to speak her mind and give her honest opinion. When it comes to meeting to meeting new people she’ll act polite, but keeps her distance and observes them until she deems them interesting or nice enough to interact with. Hei is pretty flat chested so sometimes she’s mistaken for a guy. She doesn’t really mind the confusion about her gender so she’s rather ambiguous about it unless someone directly asks her.

She’s very caring to people she’s close with, but because she’s not good with showing her love, she teases people to show her affection. For the most part she’s pretty laid back and hardly gets angry. When she’s angry, you’ll know; she won’t have a tantrum or openly express her anger, but you’ll know when she’s extremely pissed. Because she’s very tomboyish and open-minded, she’s bi-ual. Particularly she is attracted to girls who are very outgoing and bubbly, not to an annoyingly cutesy point though. As for guys, she’s fond of guys who are fun loving and a bit dorky.

 background — Hei was born in Daegu. She had a pretty normal childhood, except for the fact that she was tall for her age and had an intimidating looking face, so sometimes she was teased and bullied. She didn’t really let it get the best of her because her family and friends were always supportive of her and always told her that she didn’t need to listen to people who weren’t close to her. She didn’t make many friends, but the friends she has are extremely close to her and mainly guys. Because of this, she grew up pretty tomboyish. She grew up in a very musically inclined family so she always dreamed of being an artist. In her free time she took dance and music classes.

During the summer when she was 10, her family moved to London. She went to a private school where she met her best female friend and girlfriend for 2 years, Iris. She lived in England until she was 16 when she moved back to Korea, but this time Seoul. She was shopping in Gangnam, where a modeling scout found her and recruited her. Then during one of her modeling jobs, she bumped into Key and rekindled her friendship with him in turn becoming friends with the rest of Shinee, but in particular becoming close to Jonghyun. When she was 17, she was recruited into NMS.

                                                                                              

 style — She is a very fashion foreword person, Her style is very edgy and bold no matter where she’s going. Because of her figure she can rock almost anything so she doesn’t mind wearing over the top outfits. She doesn’t do girly or ‘frou-frou’ clothes.
