— Angel in Disguise

Personality: Jaemin is the type of girl who is mysterious. With her, you had to keep guessing. She's one of those people whom you have to actually pry to know. She's kind of special that way though, because she only reveals herself to the people who actually want and try to get to know her. It's like she has a wall around her. So if you've just met her, she actually seems very cold and uninterested. Some people would say that it's because she's a snobbish type of person, others would say it's because she's shy. People would say that she's not really friendly as well.

If you actually do get to know her, you'll know that she just has a hard time conveying her emotions and she also has trust issues. She doesn't do skinship very well, because it just wasn't the way she was raised. She likes skinship, but she doesn't know how or what's appropriate, so she doesn't do it. She's not really friendly too, because she just doesn't know how to act when she meets new people. A lot of people misunderstand her because of that, but she's used to all the criticisms. She doesn't really show emotions that much, and her laugh is rarely heard. She's kind of introverted, and she can't really say what she means all the time, so she relies on photography to show her good and bad feelings (she also occasionally dances to express her feelings but she does more photography). She's also very awkward and may not know how to react to different situations. Jaemin is also very good on insight as well (which is one of the reasons why she's good at photography); she's good at inspecting scenarios and people. Jaemin is very trustworthy and considerate also, when you actually get to know her. She usually puts others feelings before hers and most of the time, it's the reason why she gets into trouble. She has a hard time telling the truth, if the truth can hurt that person. Also, as she rarely says what she feels, most people rely on her habits to find out what she's feeling at that moment (see habits below!).

Only the people she's very comfortable with know her other side though. When she's comfortable with someone, she can tell that person everything about her. She can also be very corny because she tries to be funny, but it only turns corny because it shows that she rarely jokes around. You'll know you've gained her trust when she shows your her most treasured photographs (which she likes to keep hidden in her closet; one example of these is a picture of her mother). You'll also know if she truly likes you by the way she photographs you.

Like many other fangirls, she also has her spazz moments, but she definitely does not spazz in front of her idols. She's more of a closet spazzer (by closet spazzer, I mean that she spazzes usually when she's by herself and she doesn't show other people). It's kind of weird actually, because the moment she sees them (especially him-- her number one bias), it's like her body freezes, and the only thing she can do is just take photographs of them.

— Story Untold

Background: Jaemin was born from a Korean named Kim Jaeho and a British lady named Louise Brannan. Her parents met when Jaeho was attending a business meeting in England. Jaeho and Louise had their first child a year after their marriage which was Jaemin's older brother, Kim Jaehyun. 2 years after their first born came Jaemin. A year after Jaemin was born, a better business opportunity came to Jaeho and the family had to move back to Jaeho's hometown, Busan. But before they moved to Busan, Louise Brannan died due to her cancer which she had hidden from her family.

The Kim siblings grew up in Busan with their widowed father. Jaeho became the typical Asian father, wanting his children to get straight A's and the best conduct, ever since his wife died. He was very uptight to the children, which is one of the reasons why Jaemin is the way she is. They are not able to go out of the house unless it is to go to school, and he rarely conveys his love to them. Despite that, the siblings never rebelled against him.

She got into EXO through the internet, being under house arrest most of the time, she had nothing else to do but stalk and get into the kpop world. Before she knew it, she was hooked.

She found out about photography one afternoon when one of her classmates asked her if Jaemin could hold on to her DSLR camera. Being curious, she started tinkering with it and took pictures in their school garden. She fell in love with photography soon after and asked her dad for her own camera.

Thankfully after they both had graduated high school, their father had started to let them out of the house already. As they grew older, Jaehyun, although originally wanting to become an idol due to his (and Jaemin's) passion towards dancing, was forced to follow his father's footsteps and take his place in their family business. Jaemin, on the other hand, wanted to become a photographer, much to her father's dismay because according to her father, it is a very useless profession. She struck a deal with her father though that if she got a stable job in photography, he will stop prying her to get into the family business. As of now, she has not found a stable job yet in the line of photography yet.

Interactions: Suho is one of the few people who actually try to get to know her after their first meeting. As the days pass, he also takes note of her habits and that her eyes are very special-- they're blue. They have moments where they talk and get to know each other as well. But it's the way they act around each other, how they touch, and the way they look at each other that's really special. Jaemin also let's him into her world, which only a few have entered.
