I'm putting more of myself into "Rescue Me" than I maybe should. I think...maybe I'm using it as an outlet, maybe to tell my own story. So far, the forward and the first chapter are not just loosely based on my own experiences, but almost a perfect depiction of what happened. The ages, the events, the emotions - all of those are real. It's...pretty much only the names I've changed.

I'm hesitant to have this fic up, mostly because any criticism at all is going to be a direct emotional hit. This is my life, not just some random story. Please, just don't be hateful. That's all I ask.
