First off, I'm sorry for this post. I just don't know what to do.

I am nearing the halfway point in my story 'The Next Best Thing'. It's a sort of sequel to my first story 'FanBoy'. Because FanBoy was my first story I thought it was 'normal' to get at least 2 comments between each chapter if I didn't upload within the same hour or such. However, I only have 13 comments and I just posted the 22nd chapter. I could understand if the story didn't seem popular or liked but it has 43 subs, over 1000 views and 5 upvotes (FanBoy only has 14 upvotes and most of those were after completion). I can tell it's not as popular as FanBoy and that's ok. I can understand. I like Sungyeol more than Myungsoo also.

I've noticed it for a while now but didn't want to say anything. I don't want to guilt readers into commenting. It's ok if they don't. I like hearing what they think of different scenes but it wont stop me from writing. I plan to write out my entire series even if I don't have any readers for them. The only real side-effect the lack of comments has on me is that I'm feeling less tempted to stick with my original plans. For a while I've been playing with the idea of writing from several different couples (even OC with OC and group member with girl OC ) but haven't since I knew it wouldn't be as much fun for others.

Example:

Book 1 - FanBoy - Sungyeol & Nozomi

Book 2 - The Next Best Thing - Myungsoo & Hideya

Book 3 - ___ - Sungkyu & Woohyun

Book 4 - ___ - Keisuke & Takuro

Book 5 - ___ - Hoya & _

Book 6 - ____ - _ & _

(See what I mean? The couples from the previous stories would still be around and dealing with things but the focus would be on a new 'couple' each story since I'm not sure I like the idea of creating trouble for YeolMi over and over.)

So now I'm really considering writing the FanBoy series as a collection of different relationships going through 'life problems' together. I love the YeolMi couple but I truly enjoy all my story's couples (current and future) and if readers aren't really all that interested in the stories anyway shouldn't I just write them for myself?
