EMERGENCY - if you are good with computers...

So, I had the next 5ish chapters (in varying stages of completion) for my current story on my USB drive, along with a lot of my files from work, since I have to be at multiple locations all the time so I have it all in the one place.  I usually back it up every couple of weeks...unfortunately I was going to back it up tonight...and guess what happened at work today...

So I used it at work all morning with no problems.  I come back from lunch, plug it in to my computer and the computer can recognize that there is a drive connected, but the name of the drive is not coming up and I cannot open the folder.  I tried it on all three of the computers that I work with at work and it didn't work on any of them.  So I waiting until I got home, where the computer is in English and not Korean, to see if I could figure out what was going on.  I plugged it in (to all of my USB ports) and it was the same story, except each time I got a pop up asking me to reformat the drive.  I know that if I do this I will loose all the data on there and I would like to avoid it if possible but ready to bite the bullet if I can't.

So techy people - any advice or am I just SOL on this and have to start over again from square one?

I seriously have a month full of lessons on there so not having to re do them all would be a life-saver...but I understand if I have no choice.

Waiting for any responses...
