WIN Episode 7 Evaluation Round 1

WIN Episode 7 Evaluation

Weekly performance review: So I thought I won’t be making one this week but apparently a battle did take place. So this is only based on me listening to their tracks half of my shift at work and I finally got to associate the song to the actual performance and watch them when I got home. Well enough of me. Here is the review.

Team B: Let me just say that I have an aversion to Justin Bieber. If you’re a Belieber I’m sorry if this comment has offended you but I don’t like the kid. I don’t hate him I just don’t particularly like him either.  I actually find a few of his songs interesting when covered by other people.  So Team B did Baby. The only version of Baby that I ever liked was by Timothy, Legaci & Cathy Nguyen if you want to watch it you can find it here: http://youtu.be/PUAPksxTDPQ Okay so back to the review.  Despite my aversion to things related to Bieber but this was the first performance of Team B that I actually truly enjoyed listening to because they sounded better. Who would have thought that JinHwan’s voice is actually for this kind of song? And for the first time I heard them do harmony and it wasn’t bad. Their version though was well very bieberish. The only thing different was Bobby and B.I‘s rap but it was still good. The last part though when they were all singing together it was scattered. They completely forgot about doing the harmony which is sad because I think it would have been better if they did.  Jun Hwae was good and Dong hyuk showed a lot of potential. I’m still sad about Yun Hyung how can a good looking guy be so forgettable when performing. His sort of the weakest amongst the vocals of the group but I think he can definitely get better.  As for their getup they definitely look like a boy group already. I would totally hate to see any of these teams go to waste.

Team A: Officially Missing you – I couldn’t have picked a better song. This showed Team A’s vocal strength. KSY and Taehyun blending vocals are heavenly and Jinwoo pulls you back to earth a little and gives it that perfect balance. I was skeptic about adding rap in this kid of song but truly Mino and LSH never fail to amaze me. I love that they changed the song into something more personal. Props to Taehyun his was a hard task to pull maybe it wasn’t completely perfect but he gave justice to it.  His transitions were pretty obvious. I wish his parts weren’t as shaky and a little cleaner but he still pulled through. This kind of cover is the type you’ll be willing to pay money to download. They did not only look like pros they also sounded like a professional boy group. Heck they sound better than other boy groups who’ve already debuted when doing live but I dare not name names I’ll let you guys figure that one yourselves. So I saw in my TL that they were given lower marks than Team B but who are we kidding. I give Team B the first battle because even though Team A sounded better the younger group had better showmanship and GD’s meticulousness to detail. But I think it’s obvious and even Team B fans whether they would like to admit it or not this round was definitely a Team A win.  I truly wish that #OT11 can happen but if it doesn’t I’m rooting for #TeamAisNext not because they’re older and that they’re pressed for time but because they sound better.  And no I don’t believe in pity votes. Vote for the group that you think did better doesn’t matter if it’s Team A or B. You should vote not because you think the other group did better but your heart goes to the other group… Team A or Team B does not need pity. They actually need fans who believe in them and that they have talent enough for them to rightfully debut as new YG artists.

If you haven't seen their performances here they are:

Team B
