My silly question

May I ask what role playing is? I'm kind confuse about it.

I saw a lot of role play fanfics and dying to know what it is 

and how does it play. May you guys answer please? And I also wanted to play a Gbom role play (if that does exist)

Role player? Is kind a like you chose some character.example you chose to be park bom,and you make an account(it used to be on Fb) then you meet another player character,maybe CL,or dara or minzy, or maybe tabi or gd.you just played your character to be like them..(pretend that you are the character that you chosen)
I hope this simple explanation were understandable...

i can't explain what role play is, but all i know roleplay is weird and annoying LOL
